“Siege” (1983) Rigid leftist action movie

Tammy

An interesting notion on the robocop mind virus- you described it in the open when discussing a former acquaintance becoming a cop- and turning into a machine. This reminds me of the Zimbardo experiment from 1971 at Stanford. (I guess silicon valley never really changed) and the basic idea that power - perhaps the essence of capital- is on its own ravenously corrosive to humanity- to that ‘kingdom of god’ within each of us.

James Aydelotte

Love this episode. Maybe you've already read it, but an interesting book about counterinsurgency techniques in modern policing is "The Counterrevolution" by Bernard Harcourt.

Loved this episode! The comments at the 1 hr mark reminded me of this story: https://www.cbsnews.com/news/king-city-california-police-officers-arrested-in-car-theft-scheme/

Listening to this and reminded of the movie WolfCop--part unthinking, bloodthirsty monstrosity, part wolf!

“Chud” in a Yorkshire accent was a delight. Great episode.
