Added 2023-09-21 03:23:53 +0000 UTCMy voice gave out midway through recording it. I again caught the cold/sore throat that always seems to hit me in mid-September, just as Autumn is settling in. I’m still pretty gunky and my voice is not 100% but I think I’ll be able to get it finished for Friday, Saturday at the latest. Sound is slowly returning to the ol’ voice box. I used my involuntary vow of silence to add more stuff to it, so it’ll be pretty long! But hopefully worth the wait. The first half I will sound fairly normal but I may sound a lil scratchy once I get the rest finished. Thought an update would be helpful lest you think we are trapped in a suitcase in a hotel bathtub (espionage humour).

I didn't love Mad Men the way some people loved Mad Men, but it had some great scenes. Maybe my favorite was when Pete Campbell explained how he ended up in Accounts, "You know, I wanted to be Creative. That's what I interviewed for. Then someone saw my last name, and suddenly you people were telling me 'No you should be in accounts.' You people said I had 'A real way with people' which I found interesting because in my whole life no one had ever said that to me."

As a slavic child you're subjected to a host of onion, garlic, and pickled cabbage based remedies, to varying degrees of effectiveness - except in one category where it never failed - ostracization at school because of the stench. My mom used to make me sleep with a god damn tea towel full of raw onion wrapped around my neck when I was sick. But the tea is tasty, tried and true.
