Hi hello. I’m sorry, it’s been a hellacious month. A few personal issues meant I’ve been taking time out to attend to them. I should have posted something, but honestly I just felt like this year has been so full of delays already it would seem like bullshit. The next episode is in editing, it’s going to be really long, and I’m optimistic said issues are now fixed and we can resume normal service. Please forgive me.

Personal stuff aside, I’ve also been struggling with putting episodes together this year because I guess I started feeling like I didn’t know what I wanted the show to *be* in 2025. The Belgian X-Files really, truly fucked me up, and while I’m immensely proud of what Nic and I did, sometimes I wish I hadn’t gone that deep into that story. I’ve been deliberately avoiding issues and subject matter that even vaguely touch on CSA, and when I put together the last Opus Dei episode, I guess some of that ended up straying into that territory and idk, I stalled out again. I kept telling myself I was ready to get back to it, and then I’d just…not be able to.

I think I’ve worked through whatever it was - I would never describe it as trauma or something that extreme cos ultimately it’s just a podcast we made, but getting so deep into the Dutroux story definitely did…something…to me, and it’s taken a long time to get back in the right frame of mind.

Anyway I have no idea if the next episode will be well received or not but it’s a continuation/development of the narrative style we adopted for the Menwith Hill episode, repurposed to discuss Opus Dei, miracles, gladio, fascism and the coup against Allende. It will be out in the next few days. I’m so sorry if anyone was worried I’d been clipped or something. Thanks for being so patient and concerned.
