2025-12-04 02:41:03 +0000 UTCAlso, it's interesting hearing about the EDL's tactics because the Proud Boys imported them whole cloth, including the habit of pushing any minority members towards leadership. like, some of their most vicious fighters were Samoan guys. They also all turned snitches around J6, so they kept that tradition too.

2025-11-18 00:14:15 +0000 UTCThe local tribalism as faction of national pride is interesting and it's something you can se all the time at football matches, where you might be watching Arsenal and there will be an England flag with something like "Milton Keynes Arsenal" written on it, which shows that it's from a supporter or a supporter's group that once lived in Islington but moved out along the M1 in the 1980s and have stayed loyal to the old club. Then this same flag will show up again at the World Cup, this time inverting the local/national dynamic, and this is interesting because I never see this anywhere else. Here in the states you would never see a US flag carried by a fan at a local game of any sort, much less with the name of a specific city or state written on it, and for this same flag to reappear at the Olympics or whatever. Team and national support are strictly separate, which is pretty funny because us Americans are known for both our regional pride and desire to fuck the flag.
