WormHope chapter 3

“What now?” Amy asked as she walked the halls of Arcadia, her sister next to her.

“It's Dean, he's acting weird! Saying that something is going on between me and Superman!” Vicky growled out. “Where does he get off saying that?”

“You guys got into a fight before lunch. Must be a new record.” Amy snickered as the two made their way to the cafeteria.

“Don't sass me,” Vicky grumbled. “By the way, do you mind sitting next to me? Dean will be at the table and I don't feel like talking to him.”

“We could just sit at another table,”

“I don't want him to have the satisfaction,” Vicky said as they entered the cafeteria, grabbed their food, and headed to a table that already had a few people seated at it.

“What satisfaction?” Amy muttered as they sat at the opposite side of the table.

Amy didn't care for the rest of the table's occupants or whatever new juicy school gossip they began chatting about. The only good part about this was she got to sit next to Vicky.

She pulled out her phone and texted Clark. Hopefully, the goofball was doing something interesting. A few seconds later he replied and they got into a conversation. They talked for a while before he sent a particularly funny picture that had her almost choking on the food she was idly eating.

“Oh? What's going on here? Yoink!” Vicky grinned as she plucked the phone out of Amy's grasp.

“Hey give that back!” Amy tried to grab her phone back but her gorgeous sister held out away from her.

“Come on now, let's see what you and your boyfriend have been talking about,” Vicky said as she smirked. “Let's see what we have here, he sent you a picture? I wonder what it could be what the hell?!”

“Hey that's private, give it back!” Amy tried to make a go for the phone but Vicky's free hand was easily keeping her at bay.

“This is what you were laughing at?” Vicky asked as she began going through the conversation. “Amy what the fuck!”

“You're acting like I sent the damn thing!” Amy yelled. “Besides it's an inside joke, you wouldn't get it.”

“Amy, this is a picture of Superman floating next to the moon giving a peace sign with the caption ‘Imagine if I slipped and pushed the moon into the earth’,” Vicky said as she narrowed her eyes. “I dare you to explain what that joke means please, I am dying to know what the meaning of him killing billions means.”

“It's a you had to be there kinda thing,” Amy sheepishly said.

“Jeez Amy, I get you don't have a lot of chances to flirt but you suck at this,” Vicky said as she went through Amy's messages.

“That's because we were not flirting-

“Since you two know each other, you have an in.” Vicky ignored Amy as she began typing. “So for something like this, simple is best!”

“Vicky what did you do!” Amy yelled as she grabbed her phone.

“I gave you the push you needed Ames,” Vicky said, a smug look on her face as she puffed up her chest. “I sent him a smiley face, you're welcome.”

Amy stared at Vicky's chest for a few more seconds before she was interrupted by a notification on her phone. She quickly fired off a text and he instantly replied.

“See? I knew it would work.” A smug Vicky said but was promptly ignored by Amy. A few minutes later Amy nodded, put her phone down, and went back to eating. “W-wait what just happened? Why did you stop?!”

Amy with puffed-up cheeks full of food just shrugged.

“What do you mean by that? Lemme see it!” Vicky took the phone on the table and began going through it.

Amy: 🙂

Clark:🙂

Amy: Hey

Clark: Hey

Amy: Hey what?

Clark: …you said hey first.

Amy: ok…🥐

Clark: ??

Amy: Fuck you

Clark: Well fuck you too you grumpy little shite. Btw we're going camping next Saturday.

“What the fuck did I just read?!” Vicky turned to her sister with a glare. “I set it up for you and you somehow ruined it!”

“I don't know what to tell you, he and I are just friends,” Amy said as she got her phone back. “Besides, texting is hard!”

“Clearly,” Vicky said with an eye roll. “It's time I take you under my wing and show you the art of texting a boy!”

“This feels like it's you who wants to text him but for some reason, you're going in circles about it,” Amy said as she frowned at the blonde. “If you want to text him, just text him.”

“Don't be like that Amy, it's clear to me that you want to text him. I'm just here to help you.” Vicky gave a toothy smile as she pulled out her phone. “Watch and learn lil sis.”

“...we're the same age,” Amy deadpanned but her words fell on deaf ears. Vicky was already texting Clark. “By the way, Dean's staring and he looks pretty mad.”

“I'll talk to him later, now hush, let me focus.” Vicky didn't even bother looking up from her phone.

Subtle as a brick.

At least Dean looked mad, so that's a plus.

“I can't believe it!” Vicky yelled in frustration. “That jerk asks me who I was texting and I tell it's Superman he flips out!”

“Oh boy…”

“I mean, am I supposed to lie? Is that what he wants? A relationship based on lies?!” Vicky ranted as they waited outside Arcadia.

“No really?” Amy asked sarcastically as she typed away at her phone.

“What? I'm not supposed to text people?! So what if it's a boy? He's part of my team, it would be weird if I didn't talk to him!”

Where the fuck was Clark?! It was his stupid ass they were waiting for!

“And another thing-

Amy suddenly felt something move behind her, and before she could react she heard it.

“One ring to bring them all and in the darkness bind them.”

“You took your sweet ass time,” Amy growled as she turned and came face to face with Clark. His goofy grin was ever-present.

“Hey, I'll have you know I came here so fast I moved faster than sound. The sonic boom I made hasn't even noticed that it's been made. That's how fast I moved.” Clark said as put an arm around her shoulder. “I did not float nearby watching you suffer or anything like that. Oh hey, Vicky!”

“I'll get you back for this,” Amy grumbled. “And get your arm off me-

There was a loud BOOM that sounded like it came from far away followed by a powerful wind gust.

“Look at that, physics finally caught up,” Clark said as they watched Vicky's skirt fly up a bit.

Nice.

“So ready to go to the hospital?”

“I thought Mom told you,” Vicky said as she straightened her skirt down. “We're supposed to go get our measurements done.”

“Oh I blocked her,” Clark said nonchalantly.

That…that made sense.

“Mom wants us to be color-coordinated for the press conference she's throwing this week,” Vicky said as she pulled out her phone and began typing. “Just texted her that we're on the way. I've been to the place before so I know the way.”

“But poor lil Ames can't fly,” Clark said as smiled down at her. “One of us will have to carry her.”

“Rock paper scissors for who gets to carry her?” Vicky asked with a cheeky grin.

“Don't talk about me like I'm not here,” Amy grumbled. “And make this quick, people are staring.”

True to her words, a small crowd was forming around them. Normally people didn't crowd them like this, having been used to seeing them in public. But since he was here…

“Rock! Paper! Scissors!”

In the end, Vicky won and Amy got to feel her beautiful sister's arms around her.

“I thought this was for measurements?” A confused Superman asked as he was dragged into a nearby changing room.

“We took your measurements off the Internet,” Carol said, arms folded across her chest. “We had outfits made and wanted to see how well they fit.”

The place was a photo studio with…photo people running around doing god knows what. The stage was entirely white and bright. Amy had been here before, but that was a long time ago.

“Why am I dressed like a golden female Dauntless?” Vicky asked. The blonde was dressed like a female spartan warrior, complete with a helmet that had that red plum thing on it. What stood out was the fact that it looked slightly slutty? Vicky was literally in an armored gold bikini that left her gorgeous arbs showing, some gold arm bands, shin guards, and sandals.

“It's themed! We're going through different themes to see which one fits perfectly!” Maria was the lead photographer and was in charge of the whole shoot. “It's about showing off your bodies and how powerful they are!”

“I think it looks great,” Amy sat at the side with a juice box in hand.

“Someone please bring Glory Girl the spear and shield props!” Maria screeched.

“Well I feel naked,” Clark walked onto the stage in nothing but a helmet, a gold cloak, and a white and gold plated skirt.

“Ha, you're wearing a skirt!” Amy snorted, ignoring the glare she got from Carol.

“Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't Spartans wear chest plates?” Clark asked as he stood next to Vicky.

“You're the man of Steel, you don't need armor!” Maria waved off. “Plus it would be a crime to hide that body of yours, like it was chiseled by the gods themselves! Okay people, dynamic poses! I want you two to stand close to each other. Imagine an Endbringer is about to attack and you're the world's last defense!”

These shoots usually took a while, so Amy had come up with the perfect solution.

“Hey, keep the grape juice coming, and find me a pair of huge sunglasses,” Amy called to someone who happened to be passing by. Grape Juice plus her power was an easy and quick fix for boredom.

Vicky and Clark got into poses that seemed more and more sexual in nature. As the shoot went on.

“I just think it's not fair that he gets to be Superman and I'm Supergirl!” Vicky yelled as she gestured to her outfit which was a blue and red version of her glory girl outfit but with some differences. The crown was gone and on her chest was the same S logo Superman had on his chest.

“Vicky you're literally called Glory Girl!” Carol droned out as she rubbed her temples. “Just get into position okay? Please?”

“Fine, but Clark wrap your arms around me this time. The last pics we took made it look like you and I are cousins but there's a weird sexual tension between us.” Vicky said as she grabbed Superman by the arms. “If it's okay with you Ames!”

Amy was so shit faced the only thing she could do was give a thumbs-up.

“Fine then, happy cape couple!” Maria grinned. “Superman, hold her like you mean it! Don't be shy get in there! Get a feel for her! I'm sure Panacea won't mind.”

“Ion mind…”

“See? Now get in there you blue-eyed hunk!”

They did one more. Superman had his arms around Vicky, hands going to her arbs while Vicky had her back to his chest, her ass pushed against his crotch, and one arm going up to the back of his head.

“Damn…”

Those were her last words before Amy passed out…

“Picture this, a sexy cheerleader with her nerdy himbo boyfriend. They are waiting by the bus stop with her himbo while he talks about some nerdy that he's into. She's humoring him, a small smile on her face as he talks. She might not look it but she's listening and will most likely look up what he was saying later.” Maria explained as Vicky nodded.

“I get it, she might not look it but she wants to know about his interests,” Vicky said as Clark who was next to her chuckled.

“That sounds like one of those teen romance movies,” He said as Vicky smiled.

“That sounds like something Amy would say,” Vicky said as Maria with a large camera in hand stepped forward and handed her a piece of gum.

“Okay get in place, My sexy cheerleader chews that gum while my handsome himbo talks about whatever comes to mind….and action!” Maria yelled.

Vicky who was dressed in a gold and white themed cheerleader costume with a letterman jacket of the same theme pulled out her phone and began chewing her gum.

“Hey, Vicky have you seen Lord of the Rings?” Clark asked, an almost eager smile on his face. He had on fake reading glasses, dressed in a white shirt, and golden tie with a cream sweater over it all. Black pants and some sneakers.

“Nope, but you're gonna tell me about it anyway,” Vicky replied, eyes still on her phone.

“It's about this hobbit who goes on an unexpected journey! To go destroy a magic ring by throwing it into a volcano!”

“Sounds cool,” Vicky said as she blew a bubble. “We can watch it whenever,”

“It's a date then,” Clark smiled a genuine smile that made her almost forget this was all fake.

“Perfect! Absolutely perfect!” Maria clapped. “Now for this one, I want you to put on the New Wave after-dark exclusive outfits we made!”

“After dark?” Vicky asked as Maria's people came up to them and handed them what seemed like Gold and black colored clothing.

“Just put it on, I'll explain later!” Maria seemed more excited than usual but the teens did as told.

“The black and gold is interesting and I'm definitely pulling it off but why am I dressed like Alexandria?” Vicky asked as she walked over to the stage.

“I kinda like the black,” Clark said as he walked out of the changing room. He was dressed in a gold and black version of his suit. The top part of his chest, along with his collar and cape were all gold while his iconic S was a glaring bright red. The rest of the costume was completely black. Except for gold metallic rings that went around his wrists and arms while the others wrapped around his legs, one just below the knees and the other around the ankles.

“The black looks good but I honestly like you better in primary colors. Anything else just feels wrong,” Vicky said as Clark stood next to her. “So what's After dark?”

“Most of the outfits you tried on today are not just for the press conference but for merchandise. While most of the pictures here will be turned into posters and posted online the After Dark will be exclusive, only a select few are allowed to see.” Her Mom explained.

“So what you're saying is it will be behind a paywall,” Clark said with a frown as he folded his arms across his chest. That along with his new suit made him look a bit too menacing to Vicky.

“Yes, it'll pay for the new costumes and the press conference.” Her mom completely ignored the disapproval in Clark's tone.

“So why am I dressed like Alexandria?” Vicky quickly asked.

“That's easy, After dark isn't just some quick cash grab! It's a story!” Maria cut in.

“Story?” Vicky asked with a raised eyebrow.

“A story, Superman has just been declared the most powerful cape in the world! Eidolon and Alexandria have retired and passed on the mantle to you two. With Glory Girl becoming the new Alexandria! Things are going well for a few years that is until a powerful Villain comes along and kills Superman's wife!” Maria explained a look of glee on her face.

“My wife?” A confused Clark asked.

“Yes, Panacea is tragically killed! That marks the beginning of your descent into madness! You stop holding back against the criminal scum and begin killing them!” Maria crackled madly. “With Superman having lost his wife and Alexandria her sister they both decent into madness and in that bleak dark world they find…love.”

“And there it is,” Superman groans as Vicky sighs.

“First of all, Amy dying is kinda messed up,” She began. “Second of all, this was all just a build-up to a weird romance scenario?”

“Gotta give the people what they want,” Maria shrugged. “For this one, we're gonna need Panacea-”

“She fell asleep,” Vicky pointed at Amy was lightly snoring away on a chair.

“I'll wake her up,” Mom frowned before she turned-

“That won't be necessary, she needs her rest,” Superman said as he suddenly appeared in front of her mom.

Vicky blinked as she looked at the empty spot next to her. She didn't even see him move. She knew Clark was fast but…that was straight-up teleportation!

“I'm sure we can do this when Amy wakes up,” Vicky quickly floated over to the two, her aura flaring a bit.

“Actually, we don't need her to be awake. Remember, she's dead.” Maria pointed out. “Just hold her in your arms and cry that's it.”

“I guess that could work,” Clark said as he walked over to Amy and carried her. “Would you look at that, weekend at Amy's?”

“What's that?” Vicky asked as Clark with Amy in his arms walked up to her.

“It's a movie, we can watch it later if you have the time,” Clark said as Maria began to direct them.

“Superman I want you to hold her in your arms like you just lost a wife-

Miss Militia waited patiently by her bike, she wasn't supposed to be here and she hoped the person she was waiting for would understand.

“You're not my usual guest,”

In the blink of an eye Superman appeared before her, dressed in a much darker costume than his original one.

“Superman,” Miss Militia stood up straight as she stared up at him. “New look?”

“Oh, this? It was for a photo thing I was doing and I kinda forgot I had it on.” He laughed as he rubbed the back of his head. “So where's Shadow Stalker, we were supposed to meet here.”

“Shadow Stalker is on console duty tonight so she's unavailable.” She replied. “But I am more than willing to step in for her. If that's okay with you.”

“Not at all, though it's usually quiet around these parts for some reason.” Superman joked.

“I look forward to patrolling with you then,” She said as he nodded.

Miss Militia got on her bike and quickly followed after Superman who was flying. The two patrolled around the bay for a bit before they stopped by what used to be Merchant territory. There were a few junkies but they got scared and ran off once they saw Superman.

To think, one cape managed to bring all crime in the bay to a halt. While the Empire 88 and ABB were still there they knew better than to act. Superman taking down Hookwolf and Adhbeast had them all on edge.

But it wasn't just the villains on edge, the PRT has been constantly monitoring Superman. Trying to get his attention but failing. He seemed determined to not talk to anyone who was affiliated with the PRT.

Except for Shadow Stalker.

He would always meet up with her and they'd go patrolling together. This seemed to be a good thing because Sophia's attitude was gradually changing for the better. She was less of a bully to Missy and cut back on insulting her fellow wards.

Hannah didn't know how Superman would react at first but she was glad things had gone well.

“Superman, one of the other reasons I came here was to extend an invite to you.” She said as Superman stopped licking his ice cream con (something he bought from a store while on patrol) and turned to her. “With the gangs on edge, we think they might be planning something big. We're holding a meeting the day after tomorrow, to figure out what our next step is. The gangs have been a bit too quiet for our liking. We're hoping you'll attend so we can all come up with a strategy. But if you're not interested-

“Sounds good, I'll be there,” Superman said nonchalantly. “What time is it happening?”

“Uh morning, the sooner we get it done the sooner we get back to work.” She was genuinely expecting him to say no, considering his dislike of the PRT.

“Cool,” Superman said as he began floating. “This was fun, we should do this again!”

With that, he took the sky and flew off.

“I suppose it was,” Hannah muttered before she sighed. “Armsmaster did you get all that?”

“I did. I'm on my way to report to the director. Armsmaster out.”

For some reason, Hannah couldn't help but feel like shit. Superman was on their side and yet they spied on him every chance they got.

“What did you expect?” Sarah asked, a frown on her face. “You basically forced him to join New Wave.”

“I didn't force him, he asked to join,” Carol replied as he took a sip of wine from her glass.

“Because you told Amy to stop being friends with him, which is messed up by the way. Why would you do something like that Carol?” Sarah narrowed her eyes. Carol knew that look, it meant they were leaving the kitchen anytime soon.

“The synergy between Clark and Vicky is the best thing to ever happen to us. He spent an hour with Vicky and her popularity skyrocketed! I just wanted them to spend more time together, the time he spent with Amy was being wasted.” Carol said. And it was true, that Clark and Vicky were very productive.

Though she suspected Sarah didn't feel the same way judging by the horrified look she was giving her.

“Where did that logic even come from?! Did you even consider Amy's feelings!” Sarah yelled as she glared.

“I asked Amy and she said yes. It's her fault for not telling me she didn't want this-

Sarah's fist slammed into the table, breaking it to pieces.

“WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU!!!” Sarah-no, Lady Photon growled as she stood up from her seat.

A lot of people forget, including her that Sarah was the older one.

“Let's just calm down and-

“You know Amy doesn't say no to she never has! She's constantly looking for your approval!”

“And she'll gain my approval once she earns it-”

“...So being the most hard-working cape in the world is not enough for you,” Sarah said lowly, eyes wide. “Oh God why didn't I see it before, the poor girl has been living with you all this time…”

“Now you're just exaggerating,” Carol scoffed. “I feed Amy, I clothe her and I pay for her education. You're acting like I hit her-

“Who's Amy's favorite cape?” Sarah suddenly asked. “Tell me who her favorite cape is and I will drop this. I will never bring it up again, heck I will convince Superman to give you a second chance if you just tell me who Amy's favorite cape is.”

Vicky's favorite cape was Alexandria, since they were close that means Amy's favorite cape is Alexandria-

“If you say Alexandria I will punch you in the mouth,” Sarah said sternly.

“...when I asked you to help with Superman I didn't think I would end up getting interrogated!”

Sarah sighed as she rubbed her forehead. “I…I asked you if you could handle taking in Amy and you said yes. And I believed you.”

“If Amy was taken in Foster care she would have ended up a Villain, just like her father,” Carol stated as she clenched her fist in anger. Sarah was making it seem like she was the bad guy here, that she was abusing Amy! Carol was just fostering Amy into becoming a hero, someone who could wipe the sins of her father away-

“I thought Mark was Amy's father,” Sarah said as tears filled her eyes. “I can't believe it…”

“Can't believe what?” Carol asked with a frown.

“That my baby sister is a monster…”

“Okay just to make sure, I won't get infected with a weird disease that will turn me into one of his freaky monsters, right?” I asked as Contessa shrugged.

“That's not very reassuring,” I muttered as the hat lady helped with the black and silver version of my suit. I leaned down and she put the helmet with the red visor. The visor lighted up and I was met with the sight of a HUD.

Contessa pulled out her notepad and showed it to me.

The Heads up display will show you where Nilbog is hiding his weapon😃

“I see,” I said with a nod. “Did you have to draw the emoji?”

Contessa smiled and nodded.

“No no, don't do that, do act cute and smug at the same time,” I grumbled as Contessa stuck her tongue at me. “Of all the Contessa out there, I get the smug one who's a troll.”

Ignoring the smug hat lady, I took the skies, making sure to increase my speed once I was a good distance away from Contessa. The sound of the sound barrier rang through my ears as I flew past the sky and right into space.

Faster! Gotta go faster!

Through the vast vacuum of space, I moved faster than I'd ever moved. Faster than anyone will ever move. The planets blurred as I moved. It was an hour or even minutes before I reached my destination.

The sun.

I stopped a few meters away from the yellow big ball of gas.

It didn't burn nor did it hurt. To me, it felt like I was taking in a nice deep breath of fresh air. It filled my lungs, my heart, my stomach, and every other organ I had. I could feel the power coursing through my very body! I couldn't help but spread my arms out and embrace it.

I felt powerful…

I felt…I felt fucking invincible!

Like I could do anything!

Like I could save the goddamn WORLD!!!

With that in mind, I turned and headed back to my new home. It may be grimderp but gosh darn it was home!

Two minutes tops and I reached the earth. I headed straight for one of the walled-off cities, and floating above it my HUD came to life. I would have to ask Contessa how this thing even survived space let alone being so close to the sun. Must be tinker tech, judging by the

I shook my head to clear my thoughts. It seemed my body wasn't the only thing that was enhanced.

My HUD seemed to scan the city before it spotted something. It scanned a building that seemed to be remnants of a movie theater. I watched the in-built AI make a 3D map of the building before indicating that there was something under it. Something big.

It seemed I found the Nilbog's infamous failsafe. I focused on it, it was like a large fleshy sac, that pulsed every second.

I turned my sites elsewhere, the AI and my enhanced senses helping me track every living thing in this godforsaken city. Small, big, creepy, creepy crawly, extra arms, big head, and everything in between. My gaze soon landed on Nilbog himself and what in God's name is he doing to that eight-legged woman-looking thing!

I focused on him, his face in particular. His weird mismatched eyes glazed over in pleasure-never mind that! The point is I had him right where I wanted him.

My visor opened and I used X-ray vision to see right through his mask, face, and skull. His brain was visible to me, and with my microscopic vision added to the mix I was able to find what I was looking for. Tiny a tiny little abnormality that definitely shouldn't be there.

I identified the growth as the source of his powers, and carefully fired my heat vision through Nilbog's retinas, removing it and thus disabling Black.

Everything seemed to freeze for a moment and all movement stopped in Ellisburg.

That's when I struck.

I went straight to the movie theater and fired the largest heat vision blast I could master. Laser beams the size of an adult human slammed into the area, and the heat behind the attack vaporized everything above ground and below. A few seconds later I stopped and stared at the large deep crater I had made.

The denizens of Ellisburg began moving again but it was too late.

My rampage had already begun.

Amy had woken up in the middle of the night, snuck out of the house, and headed to the hospital.

Amy had a killer headache but managed to muster the strength to grab a coffee from the cafeteria. She stuck a finger in it and used her powers on it. With a sip, Amy's headache and hangover disappeared.

It was past midnight so things at the hospital were slow. Like a ghost, Amy walked the empty halls of the hospital. Searching for a purpose. After a few minutes of drifting around she found a patient who had a knife on his leg.

“Hello sir, do I have permission to heal you?” Amy droned out. The man didn't seem to acknowledge her, his eyes staring at the phone that he was practically holding against his face. “Sir!”

“Huh!?” He jumped a bit before flinching, the sudden movement having irritated his wound. Serves him right.

“I asked if I have your permission to heal you,” she repeated as he nodded.

“You do,” he said and Amy got to work. She pulled out the knife, stopped the bleeding, and closed up the wound. “Your boyfriend is a badass.”

“He's not my boyfriend,” Amy grumbled, turning and walking out of the room.

Amy haunted the hospital for a while before she finally noticed that most of the hospital stuff was missing.

“Where is everybody?” Amy muttered as she gulped down the last of her coffee. Craving a refill, Amy headed over to the cafeteria where a crowd of Hospital staff and patients were staring up at the wall-mounted TV.

Grabbing a refill curious, Amy walked over to the crowd, took a sip of her coffee, and stared up at the TV.

What she saw made her choke on her coffee and spit it out.

Breaking news, Ellisburg was wiped off the face of the Earth by Superman!!!

“What the actual fuck!” Amy yelled as she stared up at the TV with wide eyes.

What was once Ellisburg was now a large crater filled with fire and smoke. A figure could be seen zooming around the city at fast speeds accompanied by flashes of red light.

“-Superman seemed to be taking down the last of Nilbog's creations, the once untouchable city reduced to rubble and ash! Right now the local PRT are on standby as we wait for Superman to- he stopped moving! We're not sure why but we can only assume he's done and…and is he taking a selfie?!”

Amy's phone vibrated and every single person in the cafeteria turned to her. Their eyes were eager and glued to her like she was about to break out in song or something.

“That's uh…he probably sent it to someone else,” Amy said nervously.

What's this? He seems to be texting now? Who could he possibly texting at a time like this?! He just made history! Whoever it is sure must be really really important to him. They are the first person he speaks to after making history! They must be something special to him-

Okay, who the fuck was this news anchor?!

Amy's phone vibrated a couple of times. Before she sighed and checked it. Well aware of dozens of eyes staring at her, she opened her messages and there it was. The first text was a selfie if you could call it that. The idiot had taken a selfie in all that black and ash smoke. The only thing she could see was glaring red eyes and a shadow of a smile behind all that smoke, it honestly looked creepy.

The caption read sweet dreams.

That made her snort in amusement.

“Oh how sweet, she's the first one he talks to.”

“Their relationship must be pretty deep, even made her laugh!”

“Yeah, she never laughs!”

The murmurs of the crowd made her eye twitch in irritation. “I'm going outside for some air,” Amy said before inwardly scolding herself. Why did she say that?! She should have just walked out!

The other text Clark sent was to meet him outside.

Breaking into a run she ran to the exit and passed the guard watching on his phone. Waiting outside was Superman, dressed in his blue and red outfit (which suited him better than the black one he wore on TV)

That stupid smile on his face!

“You! Do you realize what you've done!” Amy growled as she stomped over to him.

“I took down Nilbog?” Clark asked as he tilted his head slightly, confusion clear on his face.

“No, you texted me first!”

“Because Ellisburg is a biohazard and I wanted you to look me over cause you're the most qualified person to do so?” Clark said, that stupid smile of his now back.

“Damn it don't use logic on me,” Amy grumbled as she got closer to him. He held out his hand and she took it in hers. Amy almost fell over due to the sheer overload of information she was getting. She'd used her powers to see inside Clark's body a few times, while his body was different from normal-this was something else! It's as if Clark was a demigod before he somehow transcended to godhood! His body was working at a thousand percent!

“So? I'm I okay?” Clark asked.

“You're fine,” Amy quickly let go of him. “You're better than fine.”

“Good, let's go eat something sweet,” Clark said before walking passed her.

“Hey wait! I don't know what happened to you but your body doesn't need food. You don't have to eat!” Amy called out to him as quickly fell in step with him.

“That just means I can eat all the sugar I want!” Clark laughed as they walked into the hospital. “And you're just jealous I can never gain weight!”

“What's that supposed to mean?!”

“It means you're pear-shaped Amy!”

“Oh look at you, you beat Nilbog and suddenly you've grown a big head! By the way, that's not as impressive as you think it is!”

It was even more impressive but Amy would never say that to him.

“Yes, it is you grumpy little pear-shaped goblin!”

“I'll show you pear-shaped! Come here you!” As Amy chased after Clark she couldn't help but notice his smile, a smile she mirrored.
