May Exercise Winner: NAVSA

The exercise for May was to make a bass sound with a synthesizer you haven't used before. The winner—according to the votes on the Discord server—was NAVSA, and as promised they get to say a few words about their experience with the exercise, and they will get a free month of masterclass access!

Here are a few words from NAVSA:

"Here is how I made it. When I started the exercise I knew I wanted to do something with Vital, I didn't use it quite a lot until I started the masterclass and I wanted to give it a try and learn more from it.

First I wanted to do something different and experiment with the 'glork wavetables' that you recommended in the masterclass. The original sound is kinda simple, two wavetables with a simple LFO on volume knobs and some distortion, compression and reverb.

In the post processing I just used an OTT, Q3 and a plugin called 'Rerun' (from Sinevibe) that did like a glitch effect to the sound and it helped me to have different variations of the original sound. Because of this plugin I recorded different variations and I chose my favs. I did like a flow that I found interesting and I applied some reverb and EQ.

To be fair, this is the first time I come up with a cool sound made by myself and I’m already using this workflow to new tracks! So that's mainly how I made it. I really enjoyed this activity and I really liked to see what everyone else was doing!
