Dino Run 2 - Development Update, November 2022

The bulk of our progress this month has been multiplayer.  As stated before this is incredibly important to set up properly at the beginning, since so much else relies on it. We are also writing our own netcode, so we have total control of it for the long term... no dependencies on third-party multiplayer services is a good thing.

This is currently P2P multiplayer - you type in the IP address of your buddy that you want to play with (who is also running the app) and it pairs you up in a rudimentary lobby, which leads to the scene you see above.


We've also made progress on irregular boulder shapes:

(They will be pixel art eventually)

We're also making progress on sound effects, level-stitching and a few other smaller things.

After multiplayer is solid enough, we start the process of getting multiple dinos exploring the larger physics playfield together, and then the real fun begins...
