Supporter Newsletter - March
Added 2021-03-03 20:24:23 +0000 UTCHello to all of our beautiful Supporters! After such a crazy start to the year, it seems like things are settling down a bit. With the COVID vaccine rolling out, we can all hope that everything will go back to normal soon. With 2020 being such a bad year, I can already feel thing getting better in 2021. (Knock of wood.)
February was certainly a fun month with a lot of development going towards both our FiveM 2.0 update and our new Minecraft servers. I thank you all for having such patience with us as our staff continues their hard work going forward. Our 2.0 update for FiveM is reaching its final stages of development with bug fixes and should be released around the second to last week in March. Our Minecraft servers will be released on the 12th of March which we've already announced alongside a building contest to bring a bit more hype and let our members help with building the spawns on these servers.
Sea of Thieves hasn't seen too much craziness besides our newly hosted Wednesday Meg Hunt which was an amazing success. That made it possible for us to have two Meg Hunts last month and bring in some new faces that aren't able to join for the weekend events. We're working on some guideline changes going forward for our Meg Hunts to hopefully fix any issues we have with trolling during the event. You can definitely expect to see more events on Wednesdays in the future.
Before I jump into the budget for the month of February and talk about where your money goes, I wanted to point out some changes we're making to our Supporter Newsletters going forward. From now on we'll be giving you all more information on what's going on from an upper staff level. (Meaning Moderators & Admins.) This means you'll all get a brief summary from everyone on our upper staff every month with their own sorts of updates on what they're working on within Requiem. I'm really hoping that you'll like these changes and look forward to hearing your feedback.
Let's dig into where all of the money went for this month. Please note that this does not include extra revenue gained that Requiem did not spend. That is all automatically thrown into our savings for a rainy day. To start off, most of our money goes to Staff Benefits (45%) which includes Staff Payments, Team Giveaways, Officer of the Month, SoT Officer Plunder Passes, etc. Next we have our monthly savings (25%) which goes towards taxes and quarterly charity events. Thirdly we have our Server Hosting/Maintenace (25%) which goes towards VPS, Server Hosting (We bought a new dedicated machine), Premium Bots, etc. Fourth we have our Social Media/Marketing (4%) which goes towards Social Media giveaways, ads, etc. Lastly we have our Giveaways (1%) which is exactly what you think but is much less this month. Going forward we are doing more giveaways like our new weekly Discord Nitro giveaways.
That's all for the normal updates that I can give you for this month. From here you're going to hear from all of the Moderators and Admins on the team currently. They'll be giving you their own short summaries on what they've been working on and maybe a little more. I'll talk more to you all next month! Love you so much and thank you for the amazing support.
Admin - Penny
Hi all. My name is Penny and I'm the social media lead for Requiem. This month, and since the start of 2021, I have been working on building engagement on all of our social media platforms as well as adding more members to my team. I've been exploring different ways to gain interaction on our posts as well as getting more members into our Discord.
Throughout the month of March I'll be looking into hosting more social media specific giveaways so make sure to go follow us. On top of that, I'm also taking note of which posts get the most interaction so I can do more of what people like. I'm always looking for people to join my team such as graphic designers and video editors. But if you have a different talent that you think will contribute to the team, please apply.
Admin - Mookest
Hello Supporters,
I am Mookest. Some of you have seen me bouncing around. I like to help here and there. I am also Partnership Liaison. I talk with other server owners and become friends so we can all have a great community across all of the Sea of Thieves as well as Minecraft and GTA FiveM. I also setup partnerships with other servers to bring gaming opportunities to our community.
In my spare time I write documents such as our rewritten Code of Conduct and soon to be Terms of Service. I enjoy my time here. I have been here for over a year giving my support to the community. Yes, I am a fellow supporter too. Have a great time in the community and let us know if you need assistance.
Admin - Spylon
Hello there. It's me, ya boii, Spylon. For those that don't know me yet, I'm the Creative Director and Development Lead for Requiem. Without wasting too much of your time, I'll jump right to some updates.
We've seen a serious amount of branding for Requiem over the past few months. What started with a 50-page brand guide (https://branding.requiem.gg/) in August 2020 has evolved into a complete re-branding for almost all our public communication. We've already seen announcements, avatars, social media revamps, and themed (holiday) skins of all communication channels, but we've got a lot more coming! Up next: a new streaming package, and a brand new website. Time to get rid of that old junk!
Our technical side has also seen massive improvements over the last months. We've got a whole list of new Discord bot features, an automated status page (https://status.requiem.gg/), a roadmap (https://roadmap.requiem.gg/), a custom API for performance-related stats, new servers, and much more! So what can you expect from us in the future? Well, we're currently working on a web-based ticket system and a new referral program. Stay tuned for that!
Now enjoy some music. https://youtu.be/zTL4T_NVGhY

Hello, I am Tenebris Kane and I am the Lead of the Requiem SoT Team. I have been working hard behind the scenes recently bringing on new officers and ensuring we keep the alliance servers staffed and maintained. As some of you may have noticed we have now introduced an open interview system in which people such as yourself may come and speak to us directly about what it means to work in the SoT team and apply directly if interested.
I am also happy to be able to say we are working hard on improving our Sea of Thieves section, working with other teams such as the development team and the Events team. This has led to new features such as our Alliance Reconnect channel which will ensure everything runs as smoothly as possible as well as discussions regarding a new event idea which has recently been pushed forward by our supporters.
In addition to this I would also like to thank all of you who support our community here. Thanks to contributions we have gained from generous supporters such as yourself we have been able to give further benefits to our SoT officer team, including a competition with gift card prizes and also buying the Sea of Thieves team the new Plunder Pass as a reward for all the time they have put in!
Moderator - Sherm
Hey there, I'm Sherm! I am currently the lead for our FiveM server you may have recently heard about. Myself & the FiveM Officer team had come from another community & moved into our new forever home here early January & it's been such a great experience since. We currently host a serious role-play & economy based server where you can create a character, progress your own unique storyline & experience a second life in the city!
To give you a little exclusive insight, for the past few months we have been working very hard on the newly revamped version of our FiveM server set to launch this month. With many hours put into development, we are thriving to give you the best experience we can possible give. This new revamp will include features such as new unique jobs both whitelisted & open for all, a new catalog of beautiful vehicles, enhanced inventory system, & even new game mechanics to give you & your character a new avenue to roleplay. Furthermore, I have been working a lot behind the scenes aiming to completely restructure how our officer team handles situations both in-game & in our discord.
We are so proud & honored to have you all be with us on this journey & boy is the future bright! Feedback from you is very much appreciated & if you ever have any suggestions or questions we would love to hear from you! Want to help us in development or moderation of 1.0 & 2.0? We are also actively looking for new FiveM Officers to take onto the team! Can't wait to update you next month!

Allow me to introduce myself, I’m Judgementreeper, the new Event Team Lead. Over the past week I have been doing a complete rework of events. I’ve brought four new Officers onto the team. We will be working on making events more organized as well as creating an easy way for both staff and community members to understand the way each event will be run, as well as a schedule for upcoming events.
Our new Event Officers are as follows, Danger Duck, Jenksyfails, Mountain_Man_37, & W4LKER. We enjoy hearing from our community about event ideas and encourage everyone to reach out to us with those ideas. I look forward to working with everyone in the community.
Keep an eye out for more changes to come!
