I might have a job?
Added 2016-02-10 16:07:30 +0000 UTC$3 Patrons saw me mention this off-handedly in their post of the Inks yesterday, but I was going off to do some on-site freelance work for the company my husband works for.
This just means that I go to an office that's hiring me as a freelancer and do work on their computers for the day/week/whatever time they've contracted me for. It's easier when you need to do a lot of revisions.
To make a long story short, my husband got a new job and I applied for his old one. And yesterday when I arrived I was told that they would hire me right then on the spot if they weren't legally obligated to wait two weeks to give everyone else a fair shot at it.
I'll know for sure next Friday, but this is a full-time storyboard revisionist position. If I get it (I'm not dealing in absolutes just yet), a lot of things will be changing, but I don't want the comic and its production to be affected by it. I think I just won't be so readily available to answer comments and messages to readily.
But yes, this is something I want you guys to be aware of. I'm on a trial period for the time being and I need to focus on that. I'm not ignoring you, there are just major life developments.

2016-02-10 20:40:05 +0000 UTCThat sounds awesome! As energy sucking as gainful employment tends to be, it is indeed necessary for maintaining a stable lifestyle. I too am on the hunt for a new position (in IT, so no threat to you :D). Hopeful conratulations are in order, I think.

2016-02-10 20:22:51 +0000 UTCThat's great! I hope you get it :D And don't be afraid to reduce the pages per week to one again until you feel like you can handle the two responsibilities without over working yourself.

2016-02-10 19:36:13 +0000 UTCLong long ago there was 2 artists doing comics in the days before the internet. Both were on the verge of becoming something special to their reader base.

2016-02-10 17:51:01 +0000 UTCCONGRATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Steady work is a definite +!!!!! Storyboarding... man, I suck at that, if only because I do stick figure storyboards. You would so totally ROCK in that role, though!!!! I hope you have tons of fun and don't go too crazy with all their revisions!!

2016-02-10 17:13:40 +0000 UTCGrats and good luck! It's cool that you don't want the comic production to be affected, but if you do need to scale it back a bit I'm sure everyone would understand. Please don't burn yourself out!
