The GamePlan

(Sorry for the massive text wall, dudes and dudettes, but this is all semi-important information you're entitled to, and I want to make sure you get everything you need. We're a team, y'know.)

Two orders of business today, y'all:

First: Hooooly cow. Words cannot even express how overwhelmed I am at the moment - or really, have been for the past several days. Hitting that major milestone is honestly something I never thought would happen, or even this fast - but the best part is that NEW PATRONS KEEP COMING.

I try to send a personalized message to each and every one of you when you end up making that commitment, but to be honest, at the moment I don't know if I'll be able to catch up with all of those within a reasonable amount of time.

So please take this as a placeholder "Hello and Welcome! I am so, so honored to have you!" message - because really, I will get to it, but I don't know when. Hello. I am so honored to have your support. Thank you.

Second: Regarding Tuesday/Thursday updates -

I don't know how relevant this will be, considering the amount we now currently have, but here's the dealio: I actually need $500 in hand to be able to meet this goal.

I hate to say it, especially with the celebration we just had, but that's the fact of the matter. After paying Yoko for her work, the amount left will be barely enough to pay one major bill that I accrue each month (usually my health insurance), which means that's less time I have to spend working for that money, and more time for the comic.

Typically, the amount you see on the Patreon page ISN'T the amount the creator will receive - Patrons who are budget conscious can set limits on how much their cards are charged each month, and Patreon has to take its share - it's how it's able to function as a company. What's left is what the creator gets.

So what this basically means is that I am nervously awaiting the end of the month. I will, of course, let you know what amount I end up receiving, but given that we are sitting comfortably over $500, I am hopeful. In the meantime, I'll be working super hard pumping out pages to have a buffer ready if/when it happens.

Even if it doesn't, we are SO. FREAKING. CLOSE - and you guys already unlocked the monthly wallpaper reward, so there's that, at least. Kind of a consolation prize - but with any luck it won't even be that.

You guys are amazing - you are making this dream of mine look more and more like a reality each day, and I cannot even believe this is my life right now.
