Every year around the Christmas Season I have a tradition of forcing myself to walk away from the computer for about two weeks, both out of the need to break away from anything relating to work to rest and also to come back completely refreshed and rarin' to go for the new year.
Of course, it feels weird to do it, all the way up until the very end - just because I feel like I owe you guys a lot for being the reason why I'm able to pay most of my bills. You really made 2015 a fantastic, amazing, milestone of a year, and I'm excited to jump back into it and continue to look for ways you make you feel involved and appreciated.
In 2015, I joined Hiveworks, quit my job, planned a wedding, got married, moved across the country, and found myself working on the comic full time while looking for employment part-time, and somewhere along the way you guys turned that into something lucrative - something I thought I would never, ever be able to accomplish.
To you new Patrons, this is still a very applicable message - you are making all of this possible. From the bottom of my heart, thank you, for both your support, and patience while I was gone resting. I am very lucky, and very fortunate to know you.
Looking ahead to 2016, there are a lot of goals I'd like to see accomplished:
- Finish and get Book 1 into printed/book form
- Set up a Hivemill Store to sell DotL merchandise
- Get better at shamelessly promoting myself on social media
- and ***FINALLY GET TO THE PART WHERE BRENT AND THISTLE KISS***

I treat the comic as a business as well as a deep and abiding passion, so being able to share long-term goals with you is rather important to me, and I'm glad to be able to do so. And if you have any thoughts or feedback of your own, please don't be afraid to share!
2015 was a pretty great year, and I'm very excited to move forward into 2016 with you. Again, thank you! I hope you had a great holiday season, and a happy new year!
