007: You Only Live Twice MOVIE REACTION! FIRST TIME WATCHING!!

This video edit was also heavily affected by copyright so unfortunately we can only show a 10 minute reaction, we are looking at ways to avoid this in the future and think we have a solid idea of how to moving forward.

But without further a do the first, last Sean Connery James Bond movie! (wink, wink). We finally see Spectre in the flesh with an action packed finale!! But... was this an underwhelming conclusion?

007: You Only Live Twice MOVIE REACTION! FIRST TIME WATCHING!!

For the whole last act of this film, all I can think of is Austin Powers and Dr Evil.

While this has some successful moments, I think it suffers from not following the plot in the novel. The book provides a much deeper sense of Bond's struggles mentally and emotionally, but the movie abandons all that for the sake of the action scenes. Because the films were produced in a different order, we don't get a sense of Bond's journey over time. "On Her Majesty's Secret Service" came before this in the order of the books, so this story should be a continuation of that. This is why much of what Bond does in this film is either confounding or boring. On another note, if you do watch the original Bond spoof "Casino Royale", be warned: it is one of the biggest failures in film spoof history. I remember watching it as a little kid and thinking parts of it were hilarious, but that's because I was a little kid and not very bright. It went through five directors and constant script changes so that few scenes really make sense, and the result is just kind of weird and pointless. That being said, you might enjoy seeing all the big film stars from 1967, though many of them apparently wished they could forget the experience.
