HHHGGGNNNGNGNNN

Hey, guys, sorry again for the late update today, but given the choice between Yoko's health and a finished page, Yoko's health is going to win out every time. She could have finished it last night, powering through a massive migraine in the process, but I'd rather know that she's not killing herself for this comic. And ultimately, in the grand scheme of things, it's not worth making yourself miserable for.

Speaking of making yourself miserable, let's talk about stuff happening in my Real Life real quick:

So, there's a soft confirmation on a Season 3 for the show I'm on, but the catch is that there is a 12 month hiatus between seasons, which means I would be out of work for a whole year. While sitting back and chugging away on comic stuff during that time is an incredibly appealing idea, I am unable to support myself on income from the comic alone (which should emphasize how important Patreon is in this day and age).

Honestly, my job started out as a great place to work and a fun project to be on, but over the course of the last year it has taken a sudden nose dive into the Sucktown Pit of Infuriatingly Pointless Notes and Revisions from People Who Cannot Comprehend Any Emotion Other Than Vapid Happiness, and the resulting wet, sticky explosion has resulted in Zero Motivation for Meg To Do Anything Other Than Find a New and More Meaningful Job.

Did you know that having cats and birds on screen at the same time is an extremely sensitive and political issue because domestic cats kill millions of songbirds every year and Heaven Forbid we model that behavior towards our audience of 4 year olds, because wow I sure do. No one tell them about Looney Toons or Tweety Bird & Sylvester.

Sorry; I'm writing this post after an especially infuriating meeting (in which the difference between tables, charts, and graphs was nitpicked upon ONLY BRIEFLY THIS SHOW IS FOR FOUR YEAR OLDS DID I MENTION THAT ALREADY) , one which a brisk walk and a very self indulgent cup of Pumpkin Spice hasn't completely fixed, and that's coming across in my writing. I NEVER get Pumpkin Spice ANYTHING. Who am I even.

ALL OF THIS TO SAY:

Sorry I ranted so much.

there there (pats u both on the head). Hugs to all & do what u nees to stay true to yourself

I also get the feeling that I said that before. Either way. Yoko's health is more important than the comic. Your job will bounce back (or get a new one) so don't let it worry you.

There's a quote I keep coming back to and I think it's great. It's actually applicable to both of you at the moment. I'll paste it here for the lazy ;). Imagine life as a game in which you are juggling some five balls in the air. You name them work, family, health, friends and spirit. And you’re keeping all of these in the air. You will soon understand that work is a rubber ball. If you drop it, it will bounce back. But the other four balls – family, health, friends and spirit – are made of glass. If you drop one of these, they will be irrevocably scuffed, marked, nicked, damaged or even shattered. They will never be the same. You must understand that and strive for balance in your life. - Bryan Dyson

I empathize with corporate stupidity. Best of wishes gettting your job situation sorted out

Take care, Meg! And hopefully Yoko feels better soon!

Geeze, Meg. I didn't know you were so human. Jokes aside, sorry life is being an uber Farty McButt-face. Guess 2017 is just the year of Sucksville. Take care and don't fret. We're all here for ya, kiddo!

No worries! Take it easy; we'll all be here hanging out enjoying whatever gets posted. :3 <3

I usually do Monty Python's Galaxy Song.

Never apologise for having a good rant. If you're going for an artist job, just take a few pages from the comic and tell them 'I drew this'. That should do it.

Darryl Worley's song comes to mind. Stuff keeps happening that you don't plan on, and that's just life. Doesn't mean it isn't frustrating/scary/time-consuming/weird it is just...life. The song is called "Sounds Like Life to Me" and when life goes pear-shaped, I listen to it with appreciation and a slightly better perspective. Good luck on the job hunt, and best wishes for Yoko's quick recovery.
