I really loved he way this ended. Obviously this show was going to end with a very sad, hopeless, gruesome ending. I think they really did that in a very good way. They truly ended it which is often not the direction these shows take. Not that they didn't leave themselves a way for another sequel, since we don't know for certain that the main vampire didn't find safety from the sun, but for the most part they ended it as I think they should have. I also don't think this was meant to be negative of religion as a whole...but more about the way some people take it to an unreasonable extreme, which can be done with any belief...not just religious belief. Religion is important when practiced the way God intended us to. These people in this story weren't putting their faith in God...but in something completely opposite, which I think was the whole point of the plot. Great show.
