Somehow the angry 'why?' is my favourite part.

AniOne

No I don't think she outet herself or Brent did. Thats why he asks why she is silent for quite a while already. And - he would never out her like: "Oh so you are this one?" he doesn't know and he does not want to find out this way. I guess he would never put her in that position.

Madam Mango

I'm assuming she didn't read the cave elf part out loud. Or did she just out herself as to her race?

Peabody

Yes.

Meg Syv

Is Lyra writing her GF? :3

D. Alfonso

I love Brent now!

Madam Mango

I LOVE THIS PAGE First, because that book was garbage. Oh, god, thank god it's burned. A part of me hates book burning - and if the book was merely horrible, I'd oppose burning the book, but a part of me just feels so, so happy - and I can't say otherwise. Secondly, because burning the entire book is such a wonderful gesture (in this context) - a) it's a simple and efficient solution that can easily show that Thistle is more important than any book, b) that if anything hurts Thistle, Brent gonna burn it down and c) it shows just so much trust in Thistle - if Brent had burned only parts of the book, then Thistle may have felt exposed - as Brent and anyone else can just read the relevant passage and figure it out. But he burned it all down, told Thistle his reasoning - and also did so in a way that says "I don't want to pry in your secret, sharing it with me is up to you". Of course, maybe I'm reading too much into it but that's how I'd feel.

Stein

Yeah don't apologize Thistle for the narrators bias

maninblack

...Well, in this particular case I *guess* it's all right. I still hate seeing a book burned, though. It's a bad habit to get into, especially when it's other people's books.

Moe Lane

Smart move, Brent.

Royce Day

Oh Thistle... I feel that. You don't have to apologize for the help you need; your friends are there for you, sweetie. ♡

Elis G.

Probably the ideal way to handle that situation. Thank you, Brent.

Jack Newbill

No! Don’t cry, babey!

Ellie
