It's been a very quiet week behind the scenes here at DotL, mostly due in part because of the painful necessity that often happens: the comic had to take a back seat to the obligations of my dayjob! We're at the start of a new episode, which is always the most exhausting part of the process because of how much Think Power it demands - we're creating interesting shots, storytelling beats, creatively problem solving, and coming up with great gags, the entire time, all at once.
I've also been presented with a possible opportunity that I need to learn more about before I decide what to do with it? I'll keep you guys updated on that, but right now I'm waiting for some people to get back to me with more information.
As far as the Chapter 10 goes, this week I've been going over my outline for the events of book 2, and spitting some relevant imagery and snapshots into my Master Sketchbook, to try and make sense of/cram into the margins of pages later in the chapter. Pay attention for those!
The Big Thing I'm mostly intimidated by in this script are some very specific scenes that I know are going to be very difficult for me to write for personal reasons. I've definitely been avoiding those, and struggling with feelings of guilt for that - even though the Logic part of my brain is telling me that's dumb and unreasonable. It'll happen, it'll come - it's just freaking me out a little right now.
I'm sorry that's all the news I have for you, but I at least wanted you all to know I'm still keeping at it in spite of things! Hopefully I will have more interesting things to share with you next week!
