The story, it drives me mad. Based on other things that were said about the storms, they mess with magic, with shape, with function, and are also dangerous environmentally to the people caught in them. But they don't seem to do horrible things to most plants and terrain? So far it's been hallucinations and grotesquerie and panicked animals fleeing for ... somewhere. What's the actual risk, post-storm? The survivor has been traumatized? The survivor has been transformed? The survivor has gained uncontrolled magic, or has lost magic?
