Well, this situation sucks; let's hope we can still see more in the future (preferably, soon) I'm curious to see more of the behind-the-scenes work that you and Yoko have to do :) Also... should we prepare for the comic website to become unavailable? Disney has become such a money hungry company, ugh. I still can't believe they're even allowed to say that to you, like what? But then again, I don't live in the US, sorry, but it seems like there's a lot of weird stuff going on over there with the capitalism and corrupt government and stuff. That sucks. I'll miss this comic so much. It's the comic I look forward to the most. It's definitely worth waiting for. A year will fly by in a flash... and we'll be here waiting like an old friend with arms open for it's return. As for content, are discussions ok? Just to stick it to the stupid mouse, I am going to continue my pledge to you. It's incredibly unfair they feel so god damn entitled to make sure you don't earn from anywhere else (Even if you are literally working for yourself and for Yoko). I will look forward to more in the future when you are done and free with that company, and moving forward to better horizons.

I can’t remember if you have mentioned it in another post, but I am curious: is this contract with Disney… how do I put this without sounding rude/crass, hrm, is it worth putting DotL on hold? I know that you can still work on DotL on the side, but I bet your new job will be quite busy. And on my part, I am not going to change my Patreon tier, simply because I love DotL so much. So, yeah, just curious. Wishing you all the best with this new job though. Hope they don’t try anything else…

I realize this is probably of zero comfort at the moment, but a reaction like that seems like at least someone at Disney feels so genuinely threatened by the quality and traction of your work that they aren't willing to risk a continued growth that doesn't directly benefit them. A super toxic and immoral form of respect, but maybe something to take a little pride in. Anyway, big dumb mouse aside, the dramatic shading and hatching on this page gave me chills it so perfectly matches the emotion and struggle. 💙

I hope they’re paying you well enough at the house of mouse for all this, or that it’s at least a cool project/role for you.

This is terrible (and hopefully illegal, but probably still going to happen because it's disney so they can do whatever they want), but hopefully it's worth it for you in terms of experience and people you get to meet, etc. I'll be waiting with my pledge still active no matter how long the hiatus has to last, and I hope everything can go back to normal afterwards (it would really be terrible if, even after the end of the contract, they didn't really let you go afterwards... like trying to claim your spiderman comics even if they can't take dotl from you). Well, I can't say I'm surprised. Disney is known for its very expensive lawyers. I am your loyal minion for eternity. So, you are going to be able to post new pages to the Dotl website right? I'm still with you regardless but it'd be nice if you can continue your baby. I imagine Disney will run you ragged. Don't feel you HAVE to post anything here if you're overloaded.

As for content to see, I'd love how you went about designing everyone! Your designs are complex enough to make them interesting and distinguishable, but you still keep the designs simple enough that you can replicate them consistently, and I think that's really cool!

I'm so sorry to hear that, Meg! Will you get into trouble if I don't change my pledge amount and keep it as a 'tip'? I'd like to at least keep that going for you, but if they say that's not possible, I'll knock it down.
