Map Pack #67: Courtroom

Merry Merries Patrons,

'Tis always the season for courtroom drama, whether that's a blistering closing argument or the trial of a dangerous super-criminal.

This month it's an interior scene. I had to do some research, because I, fortunately, am not very familiar with the subject matter.

The variations should be familiar though, with one possible exception. There's Vintage, which I generally aim at the 1920/30s for typically eldritch settings, but I think this could be used for an earlier, more 'hanging judge' era as well.

Abandoned and Apocalyptic are self-explanatory, I think. Trouble could be an in-progress or recent, violent, issue, but Investigation is clearly an episode of CSI.

Finally, I had fun building a small cage for a dangerous Supervillain facing the law.

I hope you find it useful, and that you have drama-free holidays.

As always, thank you for your generous support. It means a lot to me.

I love terrain stuff! I don't have space for it (though I have a dusty 3D printer). I run one weekly game and play in another, so it's unlikely I'll be free for anything else in the near future, but I'd love a picture of your setup.

np, I use Atlas Oscura to pepper my campaigns with small points of interest. Mostly it's full of things that you wouldn't think exist but--as a point of fact--do. For the small town I did a 40 person town with two main buildings and about half the town is gathered in the buildings. The buildings are 3d printed and painted, the terrain is paper mache, and the townsfolk are paper standees from PrintableHeroes. It was probably about a 5':1" grid scale on a 3' square cardboard base. I'll see if I can send you a picture. I don't usually run online but should I keep you in mind if I offer an online Rifts, Robotech, or Rifts Chaos Earth?

Rifts has always intrigued me, though I have yet to try it. Your games sound amazing. A small town doesn't work with a 5' grid, but parts of small towns are a good idea, as is the highway interchange. I especially like the idea of the 'edge of town with woods'. Token sets are something I've looked at, but I use perspective on my maps, so I'd have to approach it in a totally different manner. It's not the first time someone's suggested it, so I'm giving it serious thought. That Basilica and it's story are fascinating! Thank you for the inspiration and for expanding my idea list!

I have two campaigns on road trips so I could use "post apocalyptic small town", "post apocalyptic highway interchange", "post apocalyptic cross roads", "post apocalyptic high tech settlement" and any similar variation you make. I'd love a highway creation kit set. The setting is https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rifts_(role-playing_game). The year is about 2300 but magic caused a general collapse in 2099 so it's post apocalypse+scifi+magic. Specific upcoming places if any inspire you: * woods around a small settlement (I made terrain for the settlement, but they have to give chase) - I can find a woods map but sci fi/modern/post apoc garnish would be cool * Witten South Dakota -- home of the Wizards of Witten * the Native American capital of Hot Springs * Basílica Santuari de Nostra Senyora de Meritxell - https://www.atlasobscura.com/places/basilica-santuari-nostra-senyora-de-meritxell-andorra teleported to South Dakota

Thanks, Andy. Remember, I like get suggestions for maps, so if there's something in particular you'd like to see wrecked, let me know.

I love it! I always love the abandoned/apocalypse but the supervillain is a nice surprise.
