Patreon Update

Hello Yaszies! I hope you're all doing well!

I'm bringing you an update regarding my current status and Patreon content. While I don't like to talk about this topic I find my self in a real down at the moment. As you may already know, Patreon charges your support pledge on the 1st of every month. While I'm still an undiscovered creator with a very exclusive following and try to remain open with you, some people have decided to wrong against me. 

This past month after having completed my house move and having set up my new workspace I have been much more active as I promised I would. I have been receiving a lot of encouragement all around which has been greatly motivational and has made me stay up late and take days off just to complete pieces for you to enjoy. 

Due to my increased activity and many suggestions made by you I have also gained some exposure which was visible through my growing Patreon following. It made me so happy to see more people believing in my creations and supporting them with not only nice comments and messages but also their hard earned, real life money. Over the past month I have been absolutely head over heels in excitement as I watched my following grow and the hit counter constantly go up.     

However over the past 24 hours I have been crushed entirely. It turns out that over 50% of my Patreon followers were a fraud. Having simply signed up to Patreon with a fake email and fake payment info just to gain access to the paid sections. 

While I little care for the few dollars I missed out on, knowing that I have been played for a fool and used like this for some reason makes me feel so defeated inside that I have started to question the several hundred hours I have spent on making my picture/animations. I would have never though that over half of my supporters were a lie. Some even going as far as faking a highest level pledge I had available.

What's more sad is that many of the fraudulent individuals signed up with their real names and details, just fake payment info, perhaps not realising that I get to see those in my list.     

As of the time of posting this update I am giving 48 hours for any remaining payments to clear in the case of typing errors when signing up or not enough funds being ready in the bank accounts to clear. Following which I will be Banning all fraudulent users from my page. 

Being a very small creator Patreon still hasn't offered me access to the pay upfront feature which doesn't allow anyone to view anything on Patreon until a payment has cleared. I honestly thought that's how Patreon works to start with. But I have never withdrawn my Patreon balance yet since all up it's barely enough to cover the transfer fee and tax. As soon as that feature is made available to myself I will be enabling it and bringing you an update when it's happening. 

I am in a strange place emotionally right now having been used like this. 

To my real followers, you know who you are and I am forever grateful to have you supporting my work. I appreciate every one of you greatly and you are my motivation to keep pushing forward to try and maybe one day be recognised among the other greater artists.
