January 2025 Roadmap - What is January's animation and requests to re-open!

Hey guys! What a weird and wild year it's been... I went from not here to... suddenly here very quick, huh?

This year saw a massive life shakeup for me, which put me in the position to rely on my Patreon income for a bit... it's scary, but I can honestly say I'm thankful to each and every one of you. I know it's sappy, and pretty much every content creator ever says it, but I truthfully mean it: thank you so much for supporting me. It means the world to me. (You basically feed me, not going to lie...)

Anyway! with that message out of the way, here's the plan for January.

-=[ January's animation - Loch Nessa Mother Remake ]=-

As some of you may know, earlier in December we lost a prominent member of the community. I knew him as DocGyara.

He was a good friend to me, more than I ever admitted, even if we lost touch in the last year. Without him, quite a few of my animations would probably have turned out worse or less inspired. One such animation was my 2020 Loch Nessa Mother - of which his story directly influenced. It's thanks to him that the animation was so large! He really pushed me to go bigger, and I'm glad I did. It paved the way for other, longer animations. Without it, I don't think I would have made Project Mother: Atago's Story, or the Spy X Family animation, or even Helltaker or the Magdalene animation.

As a homage to a fantastic writer who I am glad to have called a friend and an inspiration, I will be remaking this animation and adding new features. I want to honour him and his story the way it inspired me back in 2019.

I know I originally had the Bao and Hatterene animation planned for January, but I will be pushing Bao off until February. I'm sorry for the delay - but this Nessa remake is something I personally want to make. I will not judge you if you decide to leave for a month and come back later.

I wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone who submitted a Christmas request this year! It was a rough learning curve for me because I've just started working upon a newer style and, to be frank, I bit off more than I could chew.
To be completely honest, I didn't realize how long it'd take me to draw full drawings or lineart, and only getting two done a day isn't great.

So, taking this lessons into account for next month, I will be trailing a different way to do Patreon requests in January as a potential monthly thing. However, I can't offer lined or cleaned art like I did over December.

• $3 Deckhands - Black and white sketch

• $5 Navigators - Coloured sketch

• $10 First Mate - Coloured sketch, prioritized (Always drawn first)

Then, you guys can vote on which 2 or 3 I turn into fully lined drawings (or even Flash animations) after they're done. I'll try to open my requests early next month, probably around the 3rd, so keep an eye out for a post around then!
