Picture Story: New Life for the New Year

Normally, Hilda was a little introverted, but she looked upon the New Year's party as an opportunity to cut loose. She really wanted to make a good impression - ie., she wanted to look smokin' hot so that all the good-looking guys would be staring at her all night - so choosing the right outfit was important. She had trouble deciding whether to wear the red dress - which was so short her panties were exposed if she bent too far forward - or the sheer black chemise - which would reveal her bra and panties under the right lighting (New Life 001). Hilda went with the chemise, although at the last minute she chickened out and decided to wear a slip under it instead of just a bra and panties. She still looked sexy as hell in it, at least in her humble opinion (New Life 002)!

Hilda must have had a blast at the party, because she got so drunk she couldn't remember what happened. In fact, she couldn't even remember how she got home. She had a little hangover the next day, but otherwise she wasn't the worse for the wear (New Life 003). A few days later while checking herself out in the mirror (as she was in the habit of doing every morning), Hilda noticed that her usually taut abdomen was getting a little soft (New Life 004). She made a belated New Year's resolution to cut back on the lattes and spend more time at the gym. Unfortunately, her efforts to get back in shape didn't pan out. A couple of weeks later, she saw that her tummy had actually gotten bigger (New Life 005). That was simply not acceptable! She started eating salads for lunch and took up jogging.

After a month, Hilda had the beginning of a serious paunch, much to her dismay (New Life 006). Diet and exercise simply wasn't working. She knew that people started to have trouble losing weight as they got older, but she was only twenty-two years old, for goodness' sake! She redoubled her efforts to eat healthy and get plenty of exercise to burn off the unwanted calories. Another month went by, and Hilda had to accept the truth; she wasn't getting fat, she was pregnant (New Life 007)! Yet her pregnancy seemed to be progressing much, much faster than normal. Based on her internet research, at her current size she had to be at least seven months along - yet she had first noticed the baby bump only seven weeks ago! Was it normal for a fetus grow to that fast? She didn't think so!

She realized that she should probably go see her doctor... but every time she left the house to do so, she got distracted by something or other and never did make it to the doctor's office. At ten weeks into her accelerated pregnancy, Hilda was eager for it to be over (New Life 008). Her back ached almost constantly, and she had to pee all the time! Finally, one day, her water broke and she started having contractions. She thought about going to the hospital, but couldn't bring herself to go out the door, or call 911. Instead, she crawled into her bed and gave birth to the baby without any assistance at all. The labor was blessedly short, and there were no complications, although her first glimpse of her newborn daughter was rather disconcerting.

Based on her internet research, Hilda knew that babies were often kind of purplish in color when they were born, and turned red as soon as they started breathing air. The redness typically faded after the first day. Hilda's daughter was not only very, very red... she stayed that color as time went by (New Life 009)! Hilda was troubled by this development, at least at first. However, she knew that little Ava (that was what Hilda named her daughter) would soon learn how to mask her appearance and assume the guise of ordinary humans. Hilda wasn't entirely sure how she knew that... but she did! It didn't really matter in the grand scheme of things, anyway. As unexpected and bizarre as Hilda's pregnancy had been, she really loved her daughter and loved being a mom!

(Just a little change of pace to ring in the year - but don't worry, there are plenty of petrification stories in the works! Happy New Year, and thank you for your support!)
