As the trio drove across the desert, they became better acquainted with each other, laying the foundation for a potential friendship. Yet something terrible happened at a rest stop along the highway. A strange couple they encountered at a diner in Farmington kidnapped Chooli at a rest stop! Who are they? What do they intend to do with poor Chooli? Clearly, Chris and Lily will have to do something to save her. Do they call the police, or set off in pursuit of the kidnappers themselves?
A note about pronouns: Throughout the story, you will notice that Chris is consistently referred to as 'he' despite the fact that his body is biologically female. That is because within Chris' own mind, he still perceives himself as a man. Will that change over time, as he adjusts to his new body? Maybe. Remember, so far as Chris is concerned, he woke up in a female body less than 24 hours ago!
