Sneak Peek - Tasker Home Automation

I'm adding experimental Matter support right into Tasker! :)

This means that in the future no more plugins should be needed to control your home automation devices!

I'm really excited about this because for the longest time Tasker had no easy way to control your home automation devices. Now, with Matter, that should change!

And since this supports Matter, it's not vendor specific, so in the future a lot of devices should be supported!

You can find a new action called Matter Light in Tasker that allows you to control Matter enabled lights. (I got this one myself to test it out).

If this works correctly, I plan on adding more functionality to the Light action and also other types of devices in other actions!

If you have Matter enabled light, let me know if this works for you!

You can download the new version of the app here!

Enjoy! :)

This caused my tasker to say that I do not have the required permissions to use the tasker. I have tried many things to roll back to the past version, uninstall, and reinstall. My tasker has been unusable since Friday, June 2nd. Please help.

It will not, sorry 😅 It will only help with matter enabled devices unfortunately. But the good news is that I'll also be sharing a Philips Hue project for Tasker soon that'll allow you to do that!

will this allow control of hue lights thru the huge bridge? without invoking my godawful eventghost? (which is a PITA and hasn't been given a beta release since 2019 and is getting slower and slower at talking to my Hue bridge. also asking because i'm migrating to Linux in a few weeks and will be deprecating my entirely Windows-based smart home main hub. that would be shway as hell!
