I'll See You in a Bit!

I'm not going to be around for a little while (probably until mid-September), so unfortunately, until then I won't be able to respond to any requests. Sorry! 😅

When I get back, I'll go through all pending requests and address them all. Until then, I hope there aren't any big issues.

If you bought a license through Patreon and it's not showing up here, please try clearing the website's cache or using a different browser and then check again. That usually takes care of the issue.

See you soon!

Cheers!

N/M... Took a while but it did update a short while ago. Questions: 1. I'm signed in to the beta testing of AutoNotification, AutoTools, AutoLocation and AutoInput. How does these be updated (via store or some action from my side)? 2. Can I use the generated license numbers on more then one device?

Dee

No other licenses appearing in Taskernet although I subscribed to patreon 42$ subscription... Is it OK or should I be worried?

Dee

The trial is the Play Store version :) Use the direct-purchase version to enter your license: https://taskernet.com/?licenses

João Dias

Hi, the 7-day trial app asks me directly to purchase via Play Store. I already bought the licence via Patreon, how to activate my patreon licence? Btw i'm on android 15 lineageos

Hunter20

I subscribed ten hours ago, and my licenses page stil shows no licenses.

burningcx

It's degoogled. Obviously I figured out the problem, which isn't due to me not reading or following instructions, or knowing what I'm doing. Google has locked down those permissions, which on AOSP are configurable, but appear to require GSF now, making a degoogled OS difficult.

Ross

not sure what weird Android fork you have, but allowing restricted settings is easily activated on AOSP and unmodified forks. either you are overcomplicating this or your Android version does not allow you control of your device... the page you linked even shows you how to do it. only caveat being you must navigate to the Settings app yourself from a new invocation—the 3-dot menu will not appear at all if another app opened the Settings for you via intent, and this is intentional for security purposes.

sev

Thanks for the info! I'll keep that in mind!

João Dias

I figured it out fyi! Android 15 has restricted permissions which block any non play store app during installation. However, installing Shizuku and Install With Options, you can select to give tasker the correct restricted permissions. It is working now. Hopefully this will help someone else! Thanks for your help and for a great product!

Ross

And FWIW, with another app I was able to make it work by installing from aurora store, then flashing over the data with Swift/Neo...but since the versions of tasker are actually different apps...that won't work. I also tried a direct restore from another phone but somehow Google can tell it was sideloaded.

Ross

No, I tried that but I don't even have a 3 dot menu in that section. I think that was probably from a prevuous preview version. This one doesn't seem to have that.

Ross

Can't you unlock those by going into Android Settings > Apps > Tasker > 3-dot menu > Unblock app?

João Dias

Also it weirdly gives root access...but the app itself can't see it. It says granted in Magisk but the app thinks there isn't root.

Ross

Understandable. It denies draw over other apps, device admin, accessibility, etc... basically any of the other previous special permissions (this article speaks about it - https://www.androidauthority.com/android-15-restricted-settings-sideloading-3481098/). If it's sideloaded, no way to turn it on that I can see.

Ross

Sorry, no, that would be against Google's TOS and I would get banned from Google Play. Which permissions are you not able to get exactly? Thanks

João Dias

Hey Joao - I am having the same problem. On Android 15, any app that is not installed from an app store (ie direct purchase) cannot get the necessary permissions to run. If you install the direct purchase version, it no longer works. Any way you can make the play store version have a hidden option to enter an activation code?

Ross

Glad it worked.

João Dias

and thank you for the direct purchase to buy Tasker.

I have my licenses now. The 12 of them appear in my Android browser on your main licenses page. Thank you, João.

Hi, Sorry for this necromancy, but i have similiar issue. I subscribed a week ago, on 15th of October and my licenses page stil shows no licenses. Do i need to wait a full month cycle to get one? Regards.

Michał Lewandowski

Not a problem. I tried tasker on my head unit and its better than the previously installed automation app. Very pleased with the swap to tasker.

Roaming Rambling

Yes, unfortunately Google considers apps that target lower APIs not safe now. Tasker's direct-purchase version has a lower target API so that it can still do some stuff that the regular version can't, like toggling wifi and other stuff.

João Dias

Hi I downloaded the tasker app via https://tasker.joaoapps.com/direct_purchase_download for the latest version. My android instance said something along the lines of, this apk doesn't meet this android version's security features. I then had to ignore the warning to install on an Atoto car head unit. Should that message have appeared?

Roaming Rambling

Hi! Did you go here? https://taskernet.com/?licenses

João Dias

Hey! I have subscribed on 7th August, still no permission received.
