That aside, I have another piece all painted and ready, waiting to be posted but I wanted to know what you guys think after receiving some online criticism on the matter! I feel its important to keep you guys in the loop so here we go!
The piece in question is the gay painting of Rick and Lewis from the dystopian AU I've been chipping away at. I felt unsure about posting it because I don't want it to come across as being tone deaf to the social situation right now with riot police being aggressors and such.
The painting isn't overly 'gear-fetish', they're wearing (or half wearing) some cargo pants and combat/hiking books. I could post it, or not at all, or simply later in the month. But again, I want to know from you!

Because I don’t think some who’s into the fetish should feel shameful or wrong when they want to experience it.

I would like to see it in the future as a general consensus just because your ocs are amazing but with the social issues at hand I agree to just put it back for at least the mean time! For the sake of solidarity, or at least for the sake of saving yourself the backlash, (because you will get dragged). I know that you started the painting before all this, but it would be hurtful to put out right now. We’re being constantly inundated with images of militarized police terrorizing our communities. There has been so much violence on our streets, and absolutely no accountability. It’s an incredibly important and sensitive time for us right now. I support you in your online pursuits!! right now is a time of incredible sensitive and revolutionary change. there is a lot of saddens and pain and hurt being inflicted unnecessarily. i know a lot of your longer followers will probably get it, you've been working on pieces like that before. but people are getting sniped in the skull with rubber bullets and losing eyes. glorifying anything to do with police, the police or cargo gear fetishized or not; this just isn't the time. especially on Instagram. you could explain yourself and people would not bother reading, you know? so do you! I hope any of the perspectives you're getting help you make a decision x

These things can very quickly be taken as fake or just doing it for the clout. Or even like I’m simply doing it to fetishize poc. I’ll think about it though because I did have an idea a while ago that’s kinda sweeter!

That‘d be a cool thing to post now if you are supporting black ppl and the anti racism movement. And the gay police art later this month. I have to repeat i am not trying to tell you what to do it really is just an idea or something i would love to see.
