The only way to get rid of a temptation is to yield to it. Resist it, and your soul grows sick with longing for the things it has forbidden to itself, with desire for what its monstrous laws have made monstrous and unlawful.

(Story bit taken from the book)
Finally drew Jones as Dorian Gray and i couldn’t be happier with it. This is the kind of painting I long to make again and again.
The past two weeks I’ve been obsessed with this book, the fact that it’s so short helping me go through it twice. And of course I watched the movie but that was, well, hmpf. At least Ben Barnes is cute.
So I wanted to include some story bits, like the purple drapery Dorian throws over the canvas, as well as the knife he kills Basil with, and the key he is never parted from. In my little au version of the story the part of the painter is given to Horatio, whereas the terrible influence comes from a devilish Rick. A little more vague still, but Lewis is one of Jones many victims, lost to the dens of debauchery Jones and him frequented.

Okay painting aside, I wanted to say thank you for all the words of encouragement on my previous post, talking about art but mainly mental health. The past few days were rough and I’m definitely not okay but I’m always pleased to share my works with you, however small or inconsistent my uploads are.
I really appreciated everything you guys said and im trying to be okay with the fact that art takes time and not to push when I feel I’m close to tipping over. So thank you so much again it means a lot to me
As always, I hope you like the painting, this story is so much fun and I’m Gonna try and explore it more in further paintings. Please enjoy ♥️
