Anything could happen, but he’d insisted on a date. As he should, really, Horatio had neglected him for a few months too long, no checking in, no nothing.
Naturally, the brat wanted a grand gesture of love and eternal devotion.
What better way to start than a night out on the town.

Horatio is a bit of a flakey partner, his job, being a mob boss that is, keeps him rather busy. On top of being emotionally unavailable more often than not, Jones has had it. Jones gets what Jones wants. In this case, he wants to be taken to the opera, to sit together with Horatio, to enjoy the riches he has to offer were he a woman. So he has to cross dress and pass as his female date.
Naturally, he cant be discovered.

This painting is based on a piece by FX Leyendecker, the younger Leyendecker brother. When I saw it I thought it perfectly fitting for Jones and Hor.

It’s been a minute, I’ve been extra busy lately with having a life and staving off depression. I went to Dokomi and going to a con with such a huge artist alley was a first and it was amazing. Like a whole new world opening up.
I’ve been thinking of trying to get my own booth there next year, I already have some ideas for items I wanna make, like keychains! But we’ll see, it’s still a long ways away.
Anyway, I hope you like the piece. Work will be a little slower this month still but I have so many sketches I wanna finally get to.

Damnnnnnnn 🔥🔥🔥🔥 such great storytelling. And feels very real to queer history. How many of our ancestors crossed to experience the satisfaction that Cis/het people take for granted? Beautiful piece. Lots of emotion. I had no idea Leyendecker had a younger brother! I’ll have to look up the piece!
