About New Sales Tax Requirements (effective July 1st)
Added 2020-05-31 18:57:37 +0000 UTCHello everyone, recently Patreon announced some changes to how it handles its tax, and while we are trying to wrap our heads around it all, here's the gist of it.
Some changes to how Patreon does its tax'
“Some patrons will see an additional line item on their receipt for sales tax starting July 1st. Since tax laws and rates vary from country to country and state to state, the amount will be different for different patrons. The money that Patreon collects as a result of these laws will be paid directly to local governments.” - Patreon
We hope to set the bracket to 'general support' for all tiers, as that is was recommended in the video of CEO Jack Conte, and we hope that 'if' there is a slight increase this will not affect your budget.
