Producer Tier: Tutorial (July) + Phase Plant Discount

It's interesting that you used short loops to create a metallic sound. I've done a lot of thinking about why different materials make different sounds. I think the more ordered the structure of the material, the more tonal it can be. Metal, stone and glass are all crystals, which means they have a very ordered structure. I think that is why they resonate more easily. When you make a short loop of noise, you are creating a repeating pattern over time, which is effectively a kind of time crystal, and I think this is why it sounds metallic. Concrete has a tone, but it's not as defined as something like glass, which is much more ordered, at least I think. Anyway, maybe this is all wrong, but it got me thinking again, which I'm sure was your intention

This tutorial is amazing, so much to think about here, not just tambourines

David May

Very stimulating ideas, thank you. Another one for hats (or maybe more) is loading a second or so of noise as an IR in MconvolutionMB and S&H modulating the "start" and "end" ms parameters so that they stay a few ms apart, thereby capturing a unique, random part of the noise IR through which enveloped white noise can be filtered.

Thanks for tutorial! Never even thought about to make something tonal from a white noise. Also is there a chance to get a Reese tutorial part III? Nik says that he doesn’t use the saws nowadays, so I wonder what’s the technique with sine waves. Thank you <3
