Over the years, I've made fun of the concept of Patreon - thinking it was a way for content creators to take advantage of the generosity of their audience. In some cases, that's very much the case. I'm starting off small and keeping the scope within reality. Within the first month I will be posting some Patreon exclusive videos and a general itinerary for what I'll be working on this summer. I'm always open to suggestions too - please share what you enjoy!
As YouTube's policies have changed with their restrictive ad-service placement, content filtering practices and family-friendly push - it's difficult not to want to walk a fine line to remain in a realm of "non-offensive". I try not to get overtly political in my videos, I express myself in jest and the end goal is to make you laugh...to have a good time!
More often than not, I'm seeing my favorite channels produce less content or disappear entirely. Creators are tired of killing themselves to stay afloat or have their content claimed by companies. Some see the writing on the wall with YouTube as a whole and want to pack up shop. Who knows what future policies or what YouTube Heroes will dictate what's acceptable?
All I know is that I love Hikikomori Media. I want to create in the least restrictive way possible. I want to share and grow. I want you guys to be apart of the process. Patreon will help me dig deeper into my passion and believe in myself - in the channel! You're all apart of it, no matter how small. I mean this from the bottom of my heart, I'm still around, because of your collective kindness.
