Malinda, has Google Translate ever failed to give you funny results?

Elaine Williams

I would suggest maybe look at some of the famous tunes from the original Rat Pack (Frank Sinatra, Dean, Martin, Sammy Davis Jr, et al.) , or maybe Bing Crosby and that gang for a GTS cover (OK, so I like old fashioned songs :)) Also, for us techie-types, it would be interesting to see a behind-the-scenes view of a production from inception to completion (so it may be a bit boring with a lot of shots of a computer screen!). Thanks for everything you do!

Bill Karle

On the line of classic rock, maybe something from Styx? I can just imagine was Google Translate would do with something like Mr. Roboto. Or Queen. There are so many songs that would be great for GTS. Fat Bottomed Girls, Bicycle Race...the list is endless. At some point a 2nd Beatles medley would be cool. Journey has some songs that would be fun for GTS. I hope you will be doing more community translates soon. Those are so much fun to do. There are some great country songs that would work well as GTS. I love your straight covers too.

Elaine Williams

also, i'm work on some lyrics for GTS and will message them to you within patreon

Western Canadian Guy

would you ever do a non-GTS cover of some classic gospel music?, i'm thinking of the song that Mahalia Jackson cowrote called "Lord, Don't Move the Mountain", you have such a beautiful and powerful voice that i think would work vary well with the song, its not easy singing Mahalia but i think you would do vary good job at singing it.

Dream collab (apart from Jon)

Jeskyaa Maslin

Ooo probably Kauai'i or the Andes. Dramatic nature basically :)

translated lyric: Stop No one may pass here No one will ever get through Nobody's ever getting past here So turn around and leave if you'd like to live Over the barbed wire I saw my soulmate Susanne stod and jesticulate I have walked here 20 years soon But with a machine gun it's hard to discuss I walked slowly homewards homewards that evening should I get to see you again brain ached heart ached should I be whole again? One day it stood it was just standing there a wall between me and the one I hold dear We live two blocks from eachother but a grey dot is all I see of Susanne We ought to live here We ought to live here We ought to live here We ought to live here All the beautiful roses are wet off the blod from your holy Crusade I will never forgive That which happend at the wall I have consider goddamn much, much for an escape I want to see her body I want to stroke her skin Hear her voice Be close to her I shall whisper in her ear... We ought to live here We ought to live here We ought to live here We ought to live here Yes I know, I know exactly how to I fly over your wall Oh, I know, Oh I know I know exactly how I'll be the acid spy I'll do what you want I know exactly how I know exactly how I know exactly how We ought to live here we ought to live here (whispers like dying) we ought to live, live here (sax solo

I earlier suggested this one, https://youtu.be/eMnGEalDUk4 - Ebba Grön - Die Mauer. It is originally about the Berlin Wall, but later events may give it new life in line with your political views.

Stefan "MaskinJunior" Ivarsson

Have you considered to translate foreign songs into English to highlight the meaningful lyrics that otherwise is lost to the only English speaking world.

Stefan "MaskinJunior" Ivarsson

Haha if I think of one I'll let you know!

Malinda Kathleen Reese

Is there any props that you think is hard or impossible to find, you want to borrow from any of us?

Stefan "MaskinJunior" Ivarsson

It's fine by me as long as no one steals the name Google Translate Sings! A shout out is always nice too ;)

Malinda Kathleen Reese

How would you feel about someone trying to do something similar to what you do (with GTS) because they were inspired by you? How about someone singing their own variant/parody of your GTS songs?

Distorlar Subvoyikar

Well it was definitely a good idea 😊 just thought of another how hard was it to hit that high note at the end of the phantom overture?

Stephen hurman

I had high school friends that did it with poetry and I was listening to Disney's Let It Go in 25 languages and realized one of the languages wasn't an exact translation. So I just kind of put two and two together. There were a lot of videos on the internet at the time that had done bad translates but it tended to be with the voice of Google Translate itself and not a human singing.

Malinda Kathleen Reese

I'm sure this has been asked many times before but how did you come up with the idea for GTS?

Stephen hurman

I think Ella Enchanted and my thesis show are tied :) That's awesome!! I will keep you all posted as to what my fall and winder is going to look like.

Malinda Kathleen Reese

Sometimes just finding a musician who can whip up a track really quickly is difficult. But you develop a team after a while! In terms of YouTubers, followers introduce me as well as mentors and at VidCon!

Malinda Kathleen Reese

What is your favorite play you've ever been in? Also will you be in any plays in the fall or winter? I plan to visit DC and I'd love to see you in a show!

Mimi Ginsburg

How do you go about finding people to collaborate with? Have there been times when it was hard to find people to work with?

Rosanna system

As a (former) audio engineer, I think I'm the opposite - I always enjoy the "it's not working" part, and making it work. Of course, I always felt it was my job to help *my* performers happy with everything they did!

Wenton L. Davis

Not really a question more of a thank you so much for sharing your amazing tallants with us and I can't wait to see what you've got planned 😊

Stephen hurman

Ooof my favorite part is probably editing because all of the grunt work of creating it comes together into something that maybe you didn't expect? My least favorite part is when lines are hard to translate and you just keep trying new things and it's not working xD

Malinda Kathleen Reese

Something along those lines is coming :)

Malinda Kathleen Reese

In making your videos, what is your most and least favorite parts?

Wenton L. Davis

Do you think a compilation of quirky theme songs from TV shows would be fun?

Richard Dakin

They are doing ok if a little chaotic! My mom fell and hurt her knee but she's been appreciating the vibes sent from followers on Twitter. My dog is having a minor surgery tomorrow but she's going to be fine. Dad and I are just plugging along and taking care of the wounded ones :P

Malinda Kathleen Reese

Thanks! I've thought about it we shall see :)

Malinda Kathleen Reese

How is your family doing? Is everyone well? You Matter!

Richard Dakin

I loved the Beatles collection you did. It made me curious about what others could be done from Classic Rock groups; Genesis, Kansas, Boston, Yes, etc. And thank you for such fun times!

Wenton L. Davis

LOVE Chris Thile

Malinda Kathleen Reese

..go see it in person, if you can. Chris Thile is the happiest man in music.

Marlo Delfin Gonzales

I actually make a special effort to watch it live on Youtube when they're in the Fitz in St. Paul or Town Hall in NYC. It is absolutely amazing, and almost as good as actually going to see it in person.

Marlo Delfin Gonzales

Oh man I used to listen to it with a friend in high school but I'm not in a car enough to listen to it on the radio anymore! Struggles of public transport :P

Malinda Kathleen Reese

I can totally imagine it creeping up on you.

Marlo Delfin Gonzales

Watermelon haunts me now I swear.

Malinda Kathleen Reese

Oh, I got one. Are you as big a fan of A Prairie Home Companion as I am?

Marlo Delfin Gonzales

I'd love to add something intelligent here, but I got nothin' today. Sure could go for some watermelon right now though.

Marlo Delfin Gonzales
