Switching to Monthly in 2018!!
Added 2017-12-07 20:25:29 +0000 UTCHello my wonderful Patrons,
I have decided to go ahead and announce this early, particularly in the wake of Patreon announcing they are taking fees per charge rather than per month.
WE ARE SWITCHING TO MONTHLY STARTING JANUARY 2018!!
Let's talk about that.
Reasons why we are making the switch:
-Patreon is now taking a percentage per charge rather than per month. Switching to monthly will help minimize that charge for all of us.
-I'm making SO MANY VIDEOS!! With the YouTube algorithm the way it is, I am having to make at least one, if not two videos per week. I don't want to charge too many times as it simply doesn't seem fair. So monthly will minimize that confusion, with all Patreon resources from the month spreading across all non-sponsored music videos.
-For those of you who have not capped your pledge and are willing to pledge higher once rather than a smaller pledge multiple times, YOU'LL GET BETTER REWARDS!! :D It's a win for all of us!
The concern that people had was what if I don't make as many videos as I normally do in a month and my production becomes inconsistent with patrons still paying the same value--you don't have to worry about that. I am committed to YouTube being my career, so consistency in production is extraordinarily important.
NEW REWARDS FOR 2018 will be announced based on our survey results at the end of the month, and will take affect along with the switch to monthly on JANUARY 1st, so December will be the last month of "per video." At that time you can decide what level you'd like to be at.
For now, my friends, THANK YOU for sticking with me as we wrap up the year. I so appreciate it, and I hope this change will make life easier and better for all of us! If you have ANY questions at all, please comment down below and I will answer everything.
Lots of love,
Malinda

Awesome because I didn’t have the option to donate per video and now that it is monthly that is great. One new patreon for you. Or as google translate says, “Matt Naveh cartridge”
2018-01-06 18:03:17 +0000 UTCIt is!! I'm just finishing up reward designs (:D :D :D) so before my first video of the year this week I'll send out the new rewards to let everyone know the structure has changed. I'm also confirming with Patreon when they'll charge patrons exactly so that I can give everyone a heads up. :)

2017-12-08 20:07:16 +0000 UTCReally glad you're doing this. After reading the fees, I knew I'd have to make some cuts. I hate it because I do appreciate the effort to make sure the artists I support are actually seeing the money I'm intending for them! Yet, since I support 5+ artists, I couldn't spend more than $5 on each, and the fees on all the individual pledges..... ugh. Thanks for this! Looking forward to more good stuff from you in 2018!

2017-12-08 19:31:12 +0000 UTCWe’re going to experiment with how many videos I can make without sacrificing quality. I’ll be sharing a great SUPER in depth article from Patreon about the changes today so that you get the right info from them directly :)

2017-12-08 17:46:23 +0000 UTCPer month is simpler for a lot of people, but tbh if you are in this game long-term then it's a marathon not a sprint, so despite youtubes never-winnable algo's I'd be thinking 1 video per week in high production value is going to wear you out less and make your content last much longer. Also I'm not sure anyone understands the new patreon charges which is why people are quitting their pledges like mad since the announcement :( Like if you donate $1 to 50 people then do you get charged 50 times? I'm pretty sure the example you give about per-video rather than per-month isn't accurate though, since the per-video payments are already rounded up to 1 payment per month

2017-12-08 05:50:13 +0000 UTCIf I upload two videos in a week it will be two short videos on different days

2017-12-08 02:34:38 +0000 UTCMy only question is will you upload multiple videos on one day, or is it going to be a large video with multiple contents in it?

2017-12-08 02:10:04 +0000 UTCI know I'm not as early as a lot of people but I still really like your videos, ironically the first one I saw was GTS Let It Go (it was the one that came up on my recommendations list lol). Unfortunatly I'm too broke to support you but I like how you're making the people that are suppoprting you happy.

2017-12-07 21:23:32 +0000 UTCYes with the new fees, one monthly sum will be perfect! Keeps the fans happy and makes sure you greet the most you can. I would hate to see you have to slow down videos because of people backing out of helping you. Hopefully this keeps everyone :)

2017-12-07 21:20:09 +0000 UTCI am looking forward to the change. I know you are always open to feedback, but there is no better time to commit to some of that feedback than a shake-up such as this. :-)

2017-12-07 20:39:40 +0000 UTCI have no problem with going to monthly. We always want the artist to get the most out of the pledge, but in today's world, someone is going to get a cut somewhere. Another YouTuber I subscribe to was discussing YouTube's revised advertising/revenue policies. The business models are always going to be adjusted; we don't have to like it, but we can adapt and adjust 😀

2017-12-07 20:38:00 +0000 UTCYes not surprising at all. Any time there is a change it is unsettling. But it’s convenient that switching to monthly was already on my radar!

2017-12-07 20:30:37 +0000 UTCI was kinda wondering what you were going to do with this new fee structure. It seems like a lot of people have already left over it..
