A new MALINDA video!!

Hello my amazing patrons!

Sometimes there's a thing on my mind and the best way to talk about it is on camera.  So I figured when that happens I'd share it with you :) . Let me know if you feel me on the whole "burnt out by self-care" situation because Lord knows xD.

I would love some suggestions for MALINDA videos!!  We have an Into the Unknown cover and the Honest 2019 Christmas Song coming, but I want to do more music adventures!  Any suggestions there??

LIVESTREAM for +$5 patrons TODAY at 4PM EST!!!  I'll play you a new song :D

You know my therapist calls this kind of thing ‘Self-Love’ I think I like your term A LOT more Malinda. lol ‘Self-Care’ is a term that is less ‘Gutter-Mind’ inducing so thank you for that! As for the system you have put in place it’s not that dissimilar than how my therapist outlined it. The point behind it though, at least as far as she explained it to me, is that it should be something I do purely for the joy of doing something for myself. Something that makes me feel good. This is something I struggle with all the time, but I am trying to get better at.

lol, I tried the "Do all the things that you like doing every day". Like you, I found out it didn't work. Then I tried to cycle them, changing it up every other day. That was better. Now, it's just whenever I feel like it. I think the reason I didn't want to go that route is because it makes me look at the instruments, like "Are you really worth it?" Well, for one or two times a week, they are....for now. I'm pretty well aware that a big part of my discontent, even with the long term self care, is because I'm so bored and unhappy with what my life is right now. Since I've accepted that fact, it's gotten a bit easier. Thanks for these real talk posts :D Love them!

I have struggled with becoming disabled with a chronic illness early in life and my psychiatrist has been working on this very subject with me. Small world! :) She told me that it’ll take about 39 straight days to make this change into a habit instead of something I have to remember to look at or make; like digital photography or gaming is my short term feel good, while getting one piece of housework done is a long term (once a week in this version) item for me. Another is to give up the guilt that we aren’t handling things as well as someone else or see ourselves as pretty as another. We often see their “best of” life via social media, instead of their cruddy days. Plus, be kind to yourself, whether it’s beating yourself up because you set a goal that you didn’t reach when you planned to or things like that. I’m really glad you made a video about this, because we all need these wise words, often!

I would love you to do a cover of "Dreams to Dream" from 'An American Tail: Fievel Goes West'

Wise words there, especially recognising the dangers in those short term consumerist fixes. Your lists reminded me that I have a short term technique that doesn't cost any money. When I need a quick boost, I make a list of things I probably should do today and then I give myself license to do none of them. Somehow that freedom from the Have To's for just a day can recharge my batteries better than almost anything.

I used to be a music student and what we used to do is that we would sit in a circle and start creating an improvised tune. Then everyone following would have to bounce off of the previous person before them and create a song. Maybe you can do a collab with one or two other people and create an improvised melody together and end up writing a song!

Since Frozen 2 just came out, maybe a translate of one of the songs from that, since you did the same for Let It Go
