Secondly, we hit 300,000 subscribers on MALINDA!! Numbers are arbitrary but a great excuse to celebrate our accomplishments together. So so grateful to get to make 300,000 people happy on a regular basis!

lol I might be one of the few that actually like “Baby, It’s Cold Outside”, but I am older and don’t think of it in the creepy way it can be see interpreted as now, but as it was intended to be. Showing that women had their own Agency to make the choice to say yes to an advance (or pass) made at them by a man at the time it was originally written and made. As you both noted in your intro, it was huge for women and actually quite scandalous, especially for a holiday song of the time and for a number of years after. In fact even when I was growing up in the late 70s into the 80s, and even into some of the early to mid 90s; there were radio stations that refused to play the song all across the USA because they felt the song portrayed the wrong image for young women to hear. Though it most likely lasted longer in the areas I had lived because I lived in the south and right smack dab in the middle of the Bible Belt. Though there is nothing wrong with having ones faith in God or whatever you do believe in, but when people use their beliefs as a springboard as a launchpad to suppress the beliefs and opinions of others, just because they are not the same as their own. Then it becomes a problem and that is the type of religion that has dominated the South for the last one hundred years or so. In the late 70s through to about 2015, that type of religious beliefs has dominated the most of the American Continent in general, in fact. Which I believe has allowed our young people to move away from the restrictiveness of their parents and their grandparents, without necessarily having to lose their connection to their faith. And this has changed the way some older songs - such as this one - are viewed now. First off, the reason behind the song being written in the first place has been forgotten. So the meaning behind the lyrics have completely changed when the contextual information has been stripped away from it. So it now just comes across as creepy. Even still, I can see how both young men and women of today would not feel the same way about the song as someone of my generation or someone older from an even older generation than me. They don’t have the connections to it that we do. Kind of like Madonna’s “Like a Prayer” song from March of 1989. It created such immense controversy at the time that it is a song that is more or less seared in those of us that lived through it at the time, yet if you asked kids now about the song they wouldn’t understand the issue with it even if they did know of the song. I remember trying to explain it to my kids and it went completely over their head, as they just could not even begin to understand the political and religious climate that would have allowed the song to be banded from being sold and played in so many places and radio stations. I guess that is a good thing, as I don’t want them to understand that kind of discrimination, but it kind of makes what is going on in the USA much harder for them to understand too. Anyway, I found this fun and crazy, which is awesome! I loved the complete randomness of this! Normally there is some kind of... theme I guess is the best word to use, but here there is barely ever anything repeated again, until the very end about the Mold I think it is. Which is just amazing and I really found fun, as I really had to pay attention to know what would be coming up next, which was just fun! I hope you guys do another one like this, but I hope that you don’t do it too often that it becomes overdone either. Okay, please take care and be safe, both of you!
