I figure your alien girl (Let's call her Mal) goes to Earth and sees how badly messed up it's gotten, and one of the survivors is a young man about as old as Mal looks. She pretends to be a recently awoken amnesiac as he explains what happened to humanity ("Forgettable"). The more Mal learns of things, the more she wants to help the humans. She gets to know the guy and falls for him, and just as they're about to kiss...her parents land looking for her...and they're pissed. And that's act one.
