2021-05-27 04:11:27 +0000 UTCI finally had the chance to listen to this song, sorry for being a bit late, and it quite literally caused me to cry. I think I’m going to need to listen to it on repeat for a while just to fully wrap my head around it though, because I think in my first two listens I could only feel through the song and I don’t think I was really getting the full depth of the lyrics. Or maybe the song is crafted in such a way that each person is just going to take a different message away from the song, no matter how many times one listens to it, I’m not really sure yet. I will say that part of the impact of the song on the second viewing was your acting. I actually found myself naturally falling into similar actions as the song played. Not because you were doing something similar but because of the memories and emotions this song brings up for me. I’m not sure of the emotional toll it took to write this, but I’m grateful that you are willing to be this vulnerable in order to make this song and video.

My testimony is that love is possible, even for old people like me (I'm 67), even when you thought that door was closed forever. Patton Oswalt, who lost his wife of 11 years in 2016, has the same testimony. The understated video comes as close to a perfect accompanying piece as any work of art possibly can.
