Album Announcement!!

You all very much knew this already, but there's an album, and as long as you're still with me by the end of October, ALL OF YOUR NAMES WILL BE ON THERE!!!! I could not be more grateful to all of you for sticking it out with me. I'm already rocketing through some production (including in this video a demo for the album overture, which I think is pretty cool), and I will have so much more to share with you in the coming weeks.
Thank you for your continued support and encouragement. I will see you all so soon!

It’s so wonderful and validating to see an artist I respect so much come out as a fellow queer person. I resonate so much with this video. I also was very fortunate to grow up in an extremely accepting and supportive family, so I never felt the need to make a big deal out of my sexuality outside of my family. Until recently, I was comfortable with just being quietly queer - not in the closet, but also not overtly advertising being bi. But a few years ago, I started teaching music in a very conservative area where being queer is not always accepted. I’ve witnessed some of my students struggling to come to terms with their own queerness, and I realized that it would be a detriment to my students to hide who I truly am. If my being openly queer could help make one student feel a little less alone, then I feel like I’ll have done my job. It’s been a little scary stepping out into the open, but people like you and videos like this help make people like me braver and more comfortable with being open and loud about who we truly are. I’ve also been slowly learning to play Irish flute (transitioning from classical flute), so it’s been really neat to watch you delve into your Irish roots. I’ve learned a lot about Irish trad watching you progress, and it’s helped me fall in love with Irish music even more than I already was. From one bi Irish musician to another, thank you for being such a wonderful human being, Malinda. Your positivity, joy, and love are infectious, and you truly make this world a more loving, beautiful place.

I would pay a significant premium for a first-reader book that taps to play you singing the story in a melody my granddaughters could participate badly but proudly (original collaboration best, not Disney). However I got through less than a third of your video before I knew with absolute certainly that as soon as it ended I would be coming here and subscribing. There was very little you could have announced in the remaining 7 minutes that I had not yet watched that could have changed my mind, short of maybe saying you like to kick puppies. (And I was right, I only got even more excited to come onboard by the end!) Your sexuality didn't even make me blink. Wait no that's a lie, it was cool to see you feeling happy about yourself and about finding a way to pull the different aspects of your identity together through music. I mean, love is love, right? As far as being your music fan goes, it's only relevant insofar as it might inspire or be reflected in your music. Whether quiet queer or proud and loud, it's all about the beautiful music you make. I can't wait to hear more of the album! It has been such a difficult few years for so many people in different ways and I'm looking forward to seeing how much of my own personal journey I might be able to feel reflected in your new album. Also I have found it fascinating to watch you explore your Irish heritage with so much joy from the somewhat unusual position of having zero Irish roots myself but having married an Irishman and moved to Ireland from the US almost twenty years ago. It feels like watching both from the inside and the outside at the same time. ❤️❤️❤️

Had to laugh at the 'you don't have to do anything with that.'
