A note from the Road ❤️

Hello beautiful patrons,

A note from the road. Currently in Sacramento.

We‘ve got about 2.5 weeks left of tour. Here’s what I have learned.

-The United States is incredibly beautiful. From the golden fields of the mid west to the mountains of Colorado. It’s made me want to really prioritize travel in my life. That actually makes living in NYC way more special. Also seeing Native American place names every single day in every state definitely drives home how stolen this land is.

-I’ve met so many people who have been following my work since GTS days. The idea that people have stuck with me since then is truly astonishing. We grew up together. The specialness of that is really unexpected and just such a treasure.

-When I make music from here on out the thought will ALWAYS be how does this create a beautiful space live. And how can I be as dead honest as possible. That’s the most important thing.

-I want to make more music but be incredibly deliberate and minimalistic. Focus on the writing and the performance, and every arrangement choice is subtle and powerful while not losing the joyful abandon we have already.

-My body is very powerful for carrying me through something like this.

-I have beautiful people around me. I want to create spaces for these people to feel as validated and celebrated as possible.

-My inner critic has let go of certain things at this point, but it has doubled down brutally on other things. We gotta work on that.

-Seeing and hearing people sing my music back to me will never get old. I am starting to settle in and really enjoy these shows. I’m also getting WAY better at looking folks in the eyes, and the JOY THAT HAS BROUGHT WOW.

-I’m still figuring out who MALINDA is onstage. Sometimes I am very vulnerable and calm. Sometimes I am firey as hell. It kinda depends on the day. But I want to work on being completely committed and comfortable with every choice I make onstage, similar to my acting training. The more confident I am, the more at ease the audience is. I also realized I associated being “myself” with being a little more cute/shy/self-deprecating. Which I realized was silly. Because I as a human in life am also powerful, and I can identify with that both onstage and offstage.

Feeling quite tired but very ready to crush the Coast. I could not be more grateful for you all. You are a big part of the reason I’m able to tour like this. Thank you ❤️

See many of you soon xx

As Someone that has Just Found You I look at You as Various Types of People. A Humorous or Satirist. A Artist. A Limerick. A Musician, Actor, Poet. A Safe Guard of Irish Music. Entertainer, Designer, Producer, Woman Daughter Human Being. With all those things I don't See how they all Balance Out but they do Brilliantly. With all those Things going on in Your Head I can See how You can Critique Yourself but be easy on Yourself. But now and then Self Autotune and Tell Yourself to KMOA!!! Lol. Love what you do and How you do it. Be Happy with that. I can Tell You We all are. To the Spell and Grammar Checkers well they Know what to Do with Themselves. Autotune Baby Autotune. Have a Great Day!! Thank You for this Opportunity

Also been a fan since the GTS days. My sister and I used to watch the Panic at the Disco one and laugh together. She's no longer here, but I still put that video on when I have a hard day and need a laugh. When I realized you had another channel and had some Irish influences, I was hooked. I hadn’t joined Patreon til today cause life has been crazy these last 5 years or so. I finally have the means to support the things I like, so I decided it was about time. 😬😅I was at the concert tonight and it was amazing. I can't wait to see you again and bring some friends with me.

Can’t wait to see you tomorrow at your LA concert with my niece

You are awesome. Watching you grow since GTS has been an amazing trip.

The way you reflect on things is amazing. It shows everywhere in your work and is probably what connects me the most. Thank you for sharing your thoughts. I‘m looking forward to see you live onstage one day. Whatever side of Malinda will be there, we‘ll be fine.

You are absolutely amazing Malinda, and I hope you know that. I am so happy for you and really proud of you. ❤️ as someone who has been following you since your GTS days, I love to see you evolve and it was so special to see you become who you are now. Growing up together was really fun. I hope you have a lot of fun on tour too (and hopefully come to Europe soon? 👻) sending lots of love and joy your way :)

Klea

I really love this for you, Malinda. You absolutely have come so far.

It was really cool (and surreal) to hear you perform in person at the Irish Music Festival in Michigan. I guess I missed out on the shows that were full of MALINDA fans, but I also thought it was cool that you got so many people to sing along with you who weren't familiar with your music before! It was wild to meet you in person too. I usually chicken out when there's a meet-and-greet opportunity after a show, because I'm terrible at making conversation when I'm nervous, but you seem like a very cool, genuinely kind person, and you've been brave in sharing so much with us, so I decided to be brave too, and at least say hi and tell you that it was a super fun show. I also had things I wanted to ask you, like whether you think you might come back to the Irish Music Festival again someday, and if you intended to launch a YouTube career when you Google Translated "Let it Go" all those years ago. But more importantly, I wanted you to know what it seems like you already do -- that there are people in your audience who originally came for the laughs, but stayed for the beautiful and relatable songs you write, and your willingness to address mental health struggles and create songs that feel like a much-needed hug to people who are going through similar things, and all the ways you're building community and bringing people together from all over the world. I'm so glad you're able to do what you do, and I wish you lots more joy in whatever you do next!

We’re happily waiting for the show to start here in Sacramento.

I’ve been following you since the GTS days and it’s been such a pleasure to have grown up together. So many changes have occurred over the years but it’s been a joy watching you evolve and be the person you are today. Your music is so meaningful and matters to so many people. The concert experience really drove that point home. This community that you have created is one of a kind and so so special. All of this obviously couldn’t have happened if it weren’t for you and who you are as a person. Malinda, just keep on being you and sharing your music with us and we’ll be right here alongside you on this amazing journey ❤️ Also, I’m crossing my fingers that my next concert of yours isn’t too much of a wait because I need to experience it again as it was one of the best nights of my life!

Warning: this is a lot of words, sorry😔 You are doing literally amazing!!! I’m so happy that this tour is a magical but i wouldn’t be surprised if challenging, but beautiful experience for you. I was quietly singing/lip syncing to all of your songs (though of course using as much voice I had left for when we did call and response singing) during the Chicago concert because I destroyed my voice within the first 5 minutes of screaming excitedly. (I was the one who did little claps when you announced you were about to sing figured out) I first discovered you with Google Translate Sings Thriller and I found the editing and your acting so fun and humorous. From there I watched a bunch of GTS videos because they literally lit up my mood. A few years later, I stumbled upon a vlog you made that also featured the song Music Box, and I loved the message from that vlog along with your song and I have been listening to your music nonstop since. You are literally a queen and I am so happy I got to see you. I hope you know we are so proud of you for being you and sharing your talent and a piece of your mind and heart with us.

Sadly I live in Sweden so I can't experience you live, so I have to settle with see you on social medias and YouTube.

Christer Lind

Some day when you come to the UK I'll see you live and promise to sing your music back to you. 🙂❤️

The MALINDA that I saw on stage in Salt Lake was incredible, energetic, and was able to roll with the uniqueness of her surroundings and venue. It was a joy to watch. It was incredible! Thank you for doing this tour and safe travels these next two weeks! May you bring joy to the rest of your shows!
