Drag-Drop Ready Exodus Stealth Suit w/ .blend and .spp

EXODUS-NOVA \ STEALTH SUIT [FEATURES]:

- Intractable touchscreen wrist-computer | All suit functions are controlled through the computer. The only menu toggle is for toggling on/off the suit.

- Toggling suit plays optional orbital projection animation, no particles involved.

- Cloaking effect puts the suit into a near-invisible stealth mode.

- Segmented visor opens/closes sequentially. Can also be activated by placing right index finger against your temple.

- Scanner aims where you look, occasionally idles and looks around independently before returning to your gaze. Can be retracted or deployed. Scanning animation with computer graphic upon activation.

Drag and drop installation!

Minimal unity knowledge (suggested) for installment on base Novabeast. For modified avatars: Min-moderate blender knowledge required.

  1. Change your Nova's fluffMat material from liltoon to poiyomi, right click alpha cutoff (under color & normals in the material) and click animated when locked.
  2. Drag and drop the Exodus prefab onto your avatar in the hierarchy.

Installation

(Prerequisites)

  • Ensure your bones/body are named identically to the base Novabeast's. If your armature is named "armature" and not "skeleton" like the base Nova's, you can use path-rewrite rules within VRCFury's full controller component (located in the main Exodus object).

(Installing)

  1. Change your Nova's fluffMat material from liltoon to poiyomi, right click alpha cutoff (under color & normals in the material) and click animated when locked.

  2. Drag and drop the Exodus prefab onto your avatar in the hierarchy.

IF YOUR AVATAR IS EDITED:

For scaled outside of VRC

  • Adjust scale of the main Exodus gameobject until it fits. If there is minor clipping out of the undersuit, not to worry. The exodus shrinks and/or completely hides the body underneath.

For modified fbx

  • Use the included blender file OR Import the Exodus fbx from the project into blender. Ensure that you import the same way as you would the Novabeast:

  • [Primary Bone: X Axis] [Secondary Bone: Y Axis]

  • Fit the suit around your avatar, don't worry about minor clipping outside of the undersuit, the suit will shrink and/or hide the avatar underneath when it's on.

  • Prereqs still apply, your avi's body/armature must be identically named to the base Novabeast's.

    EXPORTING:

  • TRANSFORM: [Apply Scalings: FBX ALL] [Up: Y Up]

  • ARMATURE: [Primary Bone: X Axis] [Secondary Bone: Y Axis] [Add Leaf Bones: OFF]

  • Export Name: "Exodus NOVA" (Minus quotations)

  • IN UNITY: Create a backup, then open the Exodus fbx folder in your project tab and delete Exodus NOVA2, then drag/drop your newly exported Exodus NOVA to the project. The override should be flawless; if not, double check your export settings.

IN-GAME:

Cloaking:

Why can't others see me cloak? - The suit uses poiyomi shaders for cloaking and for the portal effect. When others have your shaders hidden, they will be viewing VRChat's fallback shaders; which are not capable of displaying the cloak effects.


How do I uncloak? - Tap the screen

Touchscreen:


Why is it stuck? - It shouldn't be stuck, but in the event of some sort of circumstances where the screen is stuck or the suit is out of sync because of the network you can bump it with your right first, or punch it. The violence is up to you.


Taking pictures with environment mask off - tail fluff visible/black

Rarely some worlds' lighting won't respect the alpha cutoff of poiyomi. This would be a world lighting issue rather than the suit.

UNITY:

[X] is not animated or working:

Ensure that your bones/avatar objects are named identically to the Novabeast's. If they are not, they will not be animated. If you have a different prefix like your avatar's "skeleton" is named "armature" you can use path-rewrite rules in the full controller component like so:

Cheek fluff is clipping out of the helmet:

Check if your cheek fluff bones are named the same as the Novabeast's. If not, you can adjust the animations so that the correct cheek fluff bones are being changed. Open the animations "Suit" and "IntroPortal". Find where cheek fluff bones are being scaled (it should be yellow if it isn't working) then click on the name of the animated bones and change it accordingly.

Don't have cheek fluff bones? If you deleted your cheek fluff bones, you likely have enough blender knowledge to make a shapekey (blendshape). Make one on your avatar that flattens/hides the cheek fluff so it doesn't clip. Then after reimporting your avatar with the new blendshape, you're going to add that blendshape to "Suit" and "IntroPortal" animations.
