I had a handful of goals for the new scene's UI design. Firstly, since this is by far the most elaborate scene I've made so far, I wanted to ensure that the controls and options available were as readable as they can be. I also wanted to keep the buttons large enough to be pressable on a phone screen but small enough to not get in the way of the scene itself. Lasty, I try to avoid using text as much as I can, largely to keep the game readable for people that can't read English.
I might not have fully succeeded on all my goals: I did opt to use text for Ashe's interactions because it's ultimately more visually concise to simply write the interaction than to try to represent it symbolically. Also my effort to make the buttons larger means they technically take up more space than the placeholder UI, but most of the button menus can be hidden.
Now, with the UI completed, the scene is all done! At any point I can go ahead to wrap up the update and release it... but first I want to decide what other smaller features and polish I might be able to include squeeze in before release.
