Halloween Game Mini-Preview and Personal Update

If you don't hang out on my Discord server, you might not have heard that I live in Georgia and my town was heavily damaged by Hurricane Helene a bit over a week ago. I was without power for nine days and depended on a generator to run essential electronics. I am fortunate that I wasn't hurt and none of my property was majorly damaged, but for that period of time I wasn't able to work on the Halloween game at all.

The picture above is a snapshot of some of the progress I had before the storm. I had the basic "mannequin" art of the characters in place and animated some keyframes, and was already about to set up the slider controls.

My whole plan behind making a game for Halloween was to challenge myself to see if I could develop a smaller game within only a few weeks. Naturally, losing over a week of progress throws a massive wrench in those plans. It's too early to say but given the circumstances I'm doubtful I'll be able to finish the whole game before October ends. I'm still committing to finish as much as I can by Halloween, but unless I'm really close I don't think there's any healthy amount of crunch that can make up nine lost days. In the event that the game isn't ready by Halloween, I'll make a public preview of my progress on the 31st and then release it as soon as I can.

If you'd like to help me recuperate the costs of fuel and supplies that I incurred while out of power, I'd ask that you at least consider keeping your membership active for one more month.
