Chess Girl Encyclopedia Profiles (ft. art from Moldykins!)

Hoo! OK, so, the posts today were kind of sparse! Sure, there were links to the stories and whatnot, and I guess it'd be fun to read them, but why were they just one measly sentence? Is it because I'm "exhausted" and "going to collapse into bed" or something?

No! Certainly not! I'm wide awake! I am vibrating with excitement! You see, I was just fine-tuning the formatting on something I am 100% thrilled to finally be able to show off! Without further ado, the first batch from one of the projects I've been working on: Chess Girls!

god, this bitch

Sorry, the Knight just does something to me. It's reflexive at this point.

Anyway, you might already be aware of this, but I take a lot of inspiration for my fantasy setting from Kenkou Cross and his Monster Girl Encyclopedia series. Illustrations of (mostly) gorgeous monster girls, accompanied by a text entry explaining their general modus operandi. I don't know why, but something about the format of MGE entries is just perfect to me. I'm so fond of them, in fact, that I wanted to try and make some of my own!

Truth be told, I've wanted to do something like this for what ages! The problem (other than me and how I am in general, I mean) was that it always felt like I'd just be copying what Kenkou Cross had already done. Like, there were already profiles written up describing succubi and kitsune and mermaids and everything in-between! While it's all well and good to use monsters that have become commonplace in stories, I wanted to try and figure out if I could make some monster girls (or [something] girls) that were unique!

Or, you know, that I hadn't heard of anyone really doing before, at least. Hence, Chess Girls!

These are just the first two out of six I have planned, and, if I'm being honest, the profiles will probably have more information added to them when I think of what'd be fun to include. That being said, the profiles that are attached to the post are worthy, I feel, of at least being v1.0, and even if the formatting isn't necessarily dazzling, I hope you like them!

Of course, I owe a huge thanks to my friend Moldy, because they absolutely fucking nailed the designs and the illustrations here. Seriously, their work oozes personality and character, and it is staggering to me how many clever details they managed to slip into these two designs. Not to mention the sex appeal, obviously. I can practically feel the Pawn's pillowy bust, and-

god, this bitch

Sorry. I just scrolled up and caught a glimpse of the Knight again. I mean, the art speaks for itself, in my opinion. Hopefully my writing does it justice.

Anyway, yes! Like I said, this is just one of the projects I've been working on behind the scenes, but I'm glad that I'm finally able to reveal it! I don't know when exactly the remaining ones will be completed, but I imagine they'll be done soonishly! And don't worry, anything like this is going to be released as a free post! Feel free to spread the profiles around before they go public on here, even!

As always, thank you so much for your support and especially for your patience. I hope that seeing these profiles brings you the same delight that I had making them!
