On a shit car form I'm on I assisted another member who lived in American buy and ship Vauxhall parts as he attempted to convert his Cadillac Catera into a Vauxhall Omega. The facelift Catera is almost identical to an Omega so the conversion was pretty much just set of Omega Badges and a new grill. A re badged Omega must have been a real high for Cadillac. Does this also not leave scope for a Cadillac Catera Eagle Quest?

2024-03-29 09:37:35 +0000 UTCOn the topic of Keeping up Appearances and Rovers, my Grandad had a new 213 on a D-reg, which he very much liked, but had to be replaced with a Montego when he was hit from behind after about 18 months - Rover could not supply parts or a full shell for his 18month old car as they had fully transitioned to the low-lip boot lid design, so his car was reluctantly written off because of the facelift!

Anti-freeze doesn't evaporate like plain water and although there is condensation in your A/C system, it would dry up the same speed as rain water.

As an owner of two EVs (and in the process of building a third) I can also confirm that charging is slowly becoming more difficult. It hasn't added any real time so far but you always get a small shock when you arrive and all the chargers are in use. Luckily just as I pull up usually someone pulls out (Be good!). Rating charging speeds may be a no-brainer for those of us who like to get to know our cars but there are cars out there can't charge any faster than 50KW etc. So I guess for them looking for a Middle or Slow charger makes sense.

2024-03-24 20:35:24 +0000 UTCTaking the thread back to coaches, quite a lot of PSVs in the 1970s and early 1980s were described as "DPs" standing for dual purpose. It would refer to a coach style vehicle that had bus features (eg bus style entry doors, space for ticket machine or bell push buttons. A compromise vehicle that could provide a bus service in the day and equally touring with a group further afield. Equally it might be something that looked like a bus from the outside but had high back coach style seats and maybe provision for some luggage or a higher ratio axle to give it a bit more pace on the open road.

The Company I work for has a DP department, with DP Managers and so on, in this instance it's dynamic positioning relating to the gubbins that keep ships stationary. It still cracks me up every time I get invited to a DP meeting. Also, on the 3 things, once you are the proud owners of a slightly grumpy peregrine falcon or an easy-going eagle (GSOH) I imagine there's a whole lexicon of names for the offspring of mammals/lunch to learn.
