Where are this week's podcast and show notes?

If you were expecting the latest podcast and accompanying show notes last night and nothing has shown up that’s probably because you’re still on the old Spowahtaaaaaah tier which no longer receives those updates. To see them from now on you’ll need to switch to the new Eagle Quest tier.
Sorry about this. With the crisp logistical skill for which Smith and Sniff isn’t known, we announced a Patreon price rise before we’d looked into how this could be done. And it turns out that the only way to adjust the monthly cost is to create a new tier at the new price and then ask people to switch. Entirely sensible on Patreon’s part since it stops thieving flutes from luring you in for a quid and than jacking the price to a million pounds a month but a pain in the bum tricks all the same.
Of course, you can stay at the old Spowahtaaaaaah tier and price if you like, you just won’t get the Sunday evening updates (and the forthcoming Eagle Quest collection video).

I might have misunderstood patreon, but if, back in the day 🤪😄, i paid for an annual sub to Autocar, then they couldn’t put the price up after i paid and not send me any mags until i paid the new rate. The new rate would apply to new subscribers, fair enough, but not to people who effectively already made a contract to get a year’s worth. Anyway, i wasn’t going to reply because as mentioned it is all relatively small potatoes, but since some other fans replied to this comment then i thought i would make the point. Above all, as mentioned, you guys are great; and i may have misunderstood how this works in the digital age. Cheers 😀😀😀

Annual is nearly £35 with it added on. Can't even cancel and refund my existing subscription and switch separately. If I switch to monthly a lose what I paid for. What a mess.

Ultimately the lower tier should be phased out, as per Patreon's official guidance for raising the monthly price which says you create a new tier and let the old one whither. It's not a brilliant system, but there are obvious reasons why they don't just let you jack the price of current tiers.

The price rise is trivial and more than fair but Rich and Jonny if you are reading this then i would argue there is an important principle here that you should honour the folks who paid for a year. Also that equates to 12% VAT which seems odd! Adds VAT onto the annual option too. Any ideas what’s going on as the old subscription wasn’t £1 + VAT!

The subscriber podcast always turned at the same time (Monday morning) as the public podcast (including adverts), rather than Sunday evening, and that is still the case with the Eagle Quest RSS link.
