First things first: I'm still tired. I went to the doctor and did some tests. Turns out my cold was actually the flu and I should expect to start feeling less tired within a few weeks. In the mean time I've been working on easy stuff.
- A first implementation of enchanting is done. You will occasionally find reagents when killing monsters. These reagents can be taken to the enchanter shop in Fort Erect (MQ03 completed is needed). You can then place research orders with your reagents to get various enchants. Expect a patreon only HUD next week with this update.
- Thong max level has increased to 20. You unlock an enchant slot every 5 levels.
- A library has been added to your inventory. Most books will be stored when you find them in world, and can be read at any time from your inventory. This will be in the next patreon HUD.
- The book media browser has been sped up, books in world should now load a lot faster after the first time, and sounds have been added.
- Did some retconning and fleshing out of a couple of lore books.
I've also taken the opportunity to make a few quest changes:
- MQ01: Nerfed damage throughput of certain NPCs. Removed a couple of skeletons. Replaced a small section of cell #3 with a slime one. Skel's milk beams player detection radius has greatly increased.
- MQ02: Clarified that you can kill Timmy by saying "foe" in chat.
- MQ06: Cell #2 - Gnoll section added, and added some more interaction with Red.
- Octojackson: Not done yet, but I plan to raise the floor a bit so his lazers aren't as easily ignored. Growing the size of his fires and always spawning 3 fires. Slowing down the cheezburger beam. Removing the sparks from the eye beams due to lag. Fixing so druid mindshroom doesn't heal him.
I also plan on making some minor lore updates to quests to improve the foreshadowing of the main plot.
Finally, since a lot of people were unhappy with the octocat section of MQ06, I'll need some suggestions on how to improve it. I was thinking about adding some sort of minigame in the section where you get trapped, but I don't know what would be fun/sexy.
