We have come to a point where we've been able to order some hardware. Kadah has ordered PCBs and parts for an initial small scale test, these parts should arrive early next week. Big shoutout to patreons helping us fund the hardware! Once these are working I'm hoping we could get some test kits out to interested patrons. I could add a new patreon tier when we get that far, and people who are pledging that tier could be eligible for the test kit. Keep in mind the first test kit would be a board without a case, and be more suitable for those technically adept enough to upload software onto it and provide feedback.
What you see in the video of this post is a prototype I soldered together in a cheap prototype case. This is not what the final unit will look like, just an experiment that's mostly held together by glue. However, I don't expect the final product to be a lot larger than this. Features of said experiment:
- Portable, no wires attached to any walls!
- Power is supplied via a standard 8000mAh phone powerbank. This gives around 11h of playtime at full power of a single USB toy.
- 2 USB ports for toys which can be controlled individually (final product will likely have 4).
