Changes to FQ branches next update.
Added 2019-02-01 18:05:09 +0000 UTC
The current update changes so many things that I need a third branch. My plans for branches going into the next release are:
- Dev branch - This will only be accessible to me, used for live development and invite-only tests for new features.
- Beta branch - This branch will only be available to $3+ Patrons. There will be a beta key released with every push to this branch. Make sure you get patreon updates to your email for the latest codes.
- Stable branch - This is the current live branch. It will see large content updates once the beta branch has gone through testing.
Any way. Once the beta branch goes live. It will contain:
- New UI - Designed more in the mindset of one character per player.
- New inventory screen
- A toolbelt. Only items equipped to your toolbelt can be used in combat. You can equip items to your toolbelt in combat, but it takes 4 AP like any inventory action.
- Quick invite URLs for multiplayer. So you can send someone a URL and they will get a screen to pick a nickname, then auto join.
- Hit and spell visuals.
- Grapple has been redesigned. A grappled player can now only attack the grappler, and suffers a penalty to physical attack and defense.
- New netcode which should hopefully reduce packet size a bit, and be more stable.
- You can now assign party leaders. Only the leader can interact with doors. All players can still interact with other assets like loot containers and levers.
- Player controlled enemies can no longer interact with things in their inventory.
- Fixed some AI bugs.
- DM tools can now be shown or hidden.
- DM messages now need to be prefixed with "dm" such as "dm I'm talking as the DM"
- In multiplayer, monsters now do a bit more damage based on nr players.
- Added 3d postprocessing support. Now even firefox can use blur effects!
- Players can now delete and trade items.
- Equipped gear now takes 20% durability damage when the wearer is defeated
- More stuff I've forgotten to document (as per usual)
I don't have an ETA for the update. But most likely next week.
