I'm still mostly working on the new ability unlocks and new world areas (I have a couple of places planned). In the mean time there are some ideas I have been toying with to add nice things to have while developing. And decided to implement them. Here's what I'm adding:
- Short names for equipment. Naming things like "Shirt of Glorious Power" is all good, but it looks kinda silly in texts like "Imp claws at your Shirt of Glorious Power". That's why I've added short names to items, so the same text might show up as "Imp claws at your shirt"
- Speech bubbles can now have colored/rich text. Colorizing player names etc.
- NPC speech bubbles can now be triggered by battle start/end events. Allowing them to taunt you or say something when a battle starts.
- The roleplay system (option chat) can now show different texts based on any conditions. It used to be options only. They can also target specific players based on conditions. For an instance, an NPC can go "Nice bulge, <name>" when there's a male player wearing pants in the party. And fall back to "Hello, travelers" if there's not.
- The above change also means that these texts can use colored names and the normal text tags system.
- I've also added so you can make conditions based on NPC sadism. So a sadistic NPC might say something different to a non-sadistic one.
Anyways, I just wanted to update you on what's being worked on. Gonna resume working on the Yuug world since the next update will involve being able to visit a gym there to learn new spells and abilities. I'm still mulling over the main quest. If I can't figure something out, I'll add another side quest to the next update instead. In either case, the update will likely double the amount of cells you can visit compared to the current beta.
