JasX Survey 2020 - Part 1

Another year another survey. I'm gonna ignore the questions where the responses were mostly identical to previous years. Let's begin!

A few new faces starting last year, but the majority of users joined in the BARE/GoThongs era. 6 real OGs have been with us since FotU!

BARE remains the most played game, but I'm glad to see a lot of users have tried GoThongs.

About a quarter have tried FetishQuest. I should probably advertise that somewhere. Maybe after next patch since I'm intending on adding in world avatar markers.

If you got to pick one feature to implement into a JasX game, what would it be?

Let's take a moment to talk about the sequel question.

I don't have any plans to make a sequel right now, I'm quite happy working on FQ for patrons and taking commissions for GoThongs. But I was curious what the community thought. As you can see, TiS and BARE were tied for the first place, and GoThongs in the second place for some reason. Fright was at 8.5%, and 4 people wanted a sequel to FuSeGa (an old flash game I made). I wonder if those could be appeased by the addition of an arena to FetishQuest, as it's a similar game, just with fancier visuals and more gameplay elements (I definitely need to add more humanoid enemies).

Realistically BARE is the game that is most likely to get a sequel on SL. Because the slow gameplay means you don't have to worry as much about SL slowness. And I'm curious about making a PVE mode with animesh plus 2v2 fights. Also it's very easy to pick up and play, and profitable o/

I might look into it if there's ever a way to make animesh with 3ds max, as I don't particularly feel like learning blender and shelling out for Avastar just for a mini game.

Nothing much has changed in the platform section, but Windows 10 adoption  has increased. Last year W7 was still at 25%. One person uses Arch, glory onto you!

I added some new browsers to the list this year and also an option to select your own browser. I love that one person uses curl, and can be assumed to have an HTML/JS/CSS parser installed directly in their brain.

Interest in VR has increased. Last year it was at 50%.

AMD has gotten slightly more popular this year (left) compared to last year (right). Ryzen is real good yo.

No big changes on the various accounts, but I thought I'd post this year (left) and last year (right) because it might be interesting.

Nothing to really comment on here, but I think this data could be interesting for SL content creators.

Good to see that giving head is still the most widespread talent. Doing god's work there. Note: The 5.7% above trolling is Programming some other language. The 6.3% below writing is Animating 3D.

Because I started 3d printing last year I thought I might as well ask. Seems a fair amount of users are into it, so let me know if you want any STL files from any of my games to print.

I'm out of time for today, tomorrow will be the second half which has the always fun drama and fetish sections!

Comments

I hinted at my thoughts in the survey, but you could definitely make a TIS/GOT style PVE adventure game with BARE style turnbased combat. i'll bet a thousand L$ that some sim owners would adopt that combat system for semi-RP sims if you keep the "PG mode" too. A simple to understand, gamey combat system that is as dice/RNG based as BARE but with interesting mechanics like multiple armor parts just BEGS for narrated adventures.

I'm shock to see Bare more popular then Fright.
